From the Desk of Pastor Paul
Dear OLCC,P Family,
Well, the school buses began rolling down our street on Tuesday! We head into this final weekend of summer enjoying beautiful weather and a final chance to squeeze in some time for relaxation and leisure with family and friends!
As we do, whether you are here or somewhere out of town, be sure to make worship part of your weekend schedule! We will have only one worship service this Sunday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary before we return next week to our fall schedule and activities. We are called to “seek the fellowship of the church wherever we may be” as members. So make sure to dedicate time to honor God for the gifts of life and labor and love and all the wonderful blessings we receive from God’s hand each and every day!
If you are able to be with us here in worship, we will be looking at the Old Testament character of Moses in the final message of our summer series. We will be focusing on the concept of Seeking Justice. Exodus 2:11-25 describes how Moses exercised justice when he encountered an injustice among his fellow Hebrew exiles. While his method was wrong, his motivation was just, seeking to right a wrong he encountered.
Justice can be defined as the application of God’s standards of righteousness in our personal and public lives. We are called by Micah to “do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God.” (Micah 6:8). Sunday we will reflect together on what it means for us to “do justice” as disciples of Jesus Christ.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Paul

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens
and let your glory be over all the earth.
