Dear Amazing TCS Educator,
As you get settled into this new school year, maybe you've started thinking about what professional learning that will have the greatest impact on your growth and your students' learning. As passionate educators, we are always hungry to find opportunities to improve our craft.
One opportunity that might fit the goals you have for your own professional learning is the Alabama Conference on Grading and Assessment for Learning. Tuscaloosa City Schools is very proud to host this event on Saturday, October 6th at Paul W. Bryant High School. Five state-level organizations are working together to put on this conference, including TCS! If you are interested in deepening your understanding of classroom grading and assessment practices that make a difference for students, this could be the conference for you.
Registration is $75 per person and includes a copy of Fair Is Not Always Equal by Rick Wormeli, who is the keynote speaker for the day. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a state-approved PLU that extends the learning through a study of the book.
