Chapter 1

Adam and Eve were created to share in God's love and friendship. Before Adam and Eve fell to sin, they were in a loving relationship with God. Many wonderful gifts given to Adam an Eve by God were lost with original sin. God created the world in 7 days. He then made Adam and Eve after that in his own image. Eve ate the apple from the tree of knowledge and brought evil into the world with Original Sin. Before Original Sin, man was designed to live in harmony with other creation.

Chapter 3

The angel Gabriel came to Mary and announced to her that she would give birth to Jesus. There are four reasons the word became flesh: to make expiation for sins, reconcile man with God, and restore human nature lost by son. Meaning he came to restore our relationship with God. To manifest the infinite depth of Gods love. He also came to preach and show God's love for us. To offer a model of holiness. He showed us how to live as Christians. To allow people to share in his divine life. He wanted us to come spend eternity with God in Heaven.

Chapter 4

The Paschal Mystery was Christ's work of redemption accomplished by his Passion, Death, and Ascension, whereby, "dying he destroyed our death, rising he restored our life. This is when Jesus died on the cross for us and rose up on the third then ascended into Heaven.

Chapter 6

The Theological virtues are good habits that we strive to form to carry out our lives in the way of God. They are Faith, Hope, and Love/Charity. We must have faith in God and believe in his authority and judgment. We should have hope to get to Heaven and be in union with God. The final virtue which is Love/Charity means that we should be kind to others and treat others how we would want to be treated.

Chapter 7

Prayer is how we communicate with God. We talk to him in prayer asking him for intercessions or thanking him for things. Jesus taught us the Lord's prayer which is the way we are supposed to pray. God answers all prayers, it might not be in the way we want but they are answered in God's will.

Chapter 5

The four marks of the church are One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. One is acknowledging our uniqueness and how we are one body in the church. Holy is acknowledging the holiness the church receives from the Holy Spirit and Jesus. The Church is filled with holiness. Catholic is saying that the Church is universal and is open to anyone who wants to believe in God. Apostolic refers to the Apostles and how us, like them, must go spread the good word of Christ.

Chapter 7

The last things are the end of our lives here on earth and deciding where we will go from here. Death is when our journey here is done and we go onto the next stage of our spiritual life. Judgment is how God determines where we will go, if we lived a good faithful life then to Heaven, but if not then off to Hell. Heaven is like our own paradise in union with the lord. Hell is eternal suffering away from the Lord. Parousia means the second coming of Christ. The final judgment will be on this day when Jesus comes again.
