We're so grateful for their caring and committed years of service to the Coronado students, staff, and families. We wish Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Hikel all the best in their retirements and new adventures. They will be honored at the June 3rd CUSD School Board meeting.

Students on Zoom: As we move closer to the end of the school year we appreciate you talking with your child about the importance of logging in to class on time and remaining in class for the entire period. Recently, we've had several students logging in late and missing important content, instructions, and information. We understand and empathize with our students who are feeling Zoom fatigue and applaud their perseverance and grit, however, we still have important work to do. Thank you for your support.

All 8th graders with school issued devices need to bring them to school to be collected before promotion practice that morning at 8:15.1pm-3pm
Thursday, June 17th --6th and 7th grade
All 6th and 7th graders who are on campus, should return their school issued device at the end of the school day.

Friday, June 18th
- ALL grades at 9am-11am
Devices need to be returned with the laptop case and charger.
If materials are not returned or payments are not made by June 18th:
- Report cards will be withheld.
- If moving, we will not be able to release files to new school.

Dear Students and Families:
The Surfer Yearbook Staff is excited to announce we will be distributing the 2021 yearbook Wed., June 9 and Thur., June 10.
- Hybrid students who pre-ordered a book can pick up their yearbooks at tables that will be set up in the quad (outside the library) during lunch.
- Bridge students who pre-ordered a book can pick up their yearbooks after school beginning at 2:15 at the doors of Granzer Hall located on Ave. F.
- Students who are interested in a yearbook should email Ms. Evenson (firstname.lastname@example.org) immediately. There are a limited number of extra books available.
- Finally, whatever yearbooks are left will be available for sale after school June 9 and 10. To purchase a yearbook on these days, families can come to the Granzer Hall doors and must use a credit card.
Thank you again to everyone who submitted photos and helped to make this book the special representation of this school year we were hoping for.
COVID Information: New CPH Decision Tree below. Students required to have a test done to clear them for return to school must have one of the following molecular tests: PCR, RNA, CPCR, and NAA. A rapid ANTIGEN test will not clear a student to return. For SDCPH regulations, please see the decision tree (photo below)
- HYBRID - On campus days: Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. Be sure to contact CMS and provide your child's symptoms. You will then be contacted by our site or CUSD nurse to determine next steps. Should you keep your child at home and he/she is not sick, we appreciate your honesty and will not have a nurse follow up with you.

Coronado Schools Foundation: 2021 Summer Enrichment Classes Enrollment Now Open!
We are thrilled to be offering CSF's Summer Enrichment program this summer. During the weeks of June 21-25 & June 28-July 2, CSF will be offering a wide range of STEM and Art courses for students entering grades TK-12th. Classes, taught by credentialed teachers and experts, are open to students from all school districts. Scholarships are available to students within the Coronado school district.

The trip is during Spring Break - March 26 - April 1,2022 - to Washington D.C., New York City, Williamsburg, Charlottesville, and Philadelphia. This trip is going to be so much fun. Take a look at this short video that will show you some of the fun your child will have on this trip.

NAVAL HORIZONS NATIONAL ESSAY CONTEST

Naval STEM is happy to present Naval Horizons for high school students. Naval Horizons is an essay contest that introduces students to cutting-edge STEM topics that impact the DON. The students will learn about Naval STEM challenges and DON scientists and engineers via a video series. They will then write an essay on how the videos inspired them for a chance to win a prize. The contest challenges students to picture themselves in a STEM career. 5000 winners will be selected and receive a $200.00 cash prize.

OPERATION PURPLE CAMP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN
Operation Purple® Camp offers military kids a free week of camp where they connect with other kids, just like them. Children from all uniformed services, including National Guard, Reserve, Space Force, and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and United States Public Health Service may apply. Camps are offered in person and virtually.

Camp Spero At Home is a weekend camp for youth (ages 7 to 17) who are grieving the death of their significant person. At camp, children and teens honor and memorialize their loved ones, make friends with others who are facing similar challenges, learn healthy coping skills and have lots of fun.
OUTDOOR OUTREACH: FAMILY PROGRAMS
An opportunity for students in the community to join Outdoor Outreach and their trained instructors on adventure activities around your own neighborhood. Equipment, instruction, and light snacks are provided at no cost!
ACTIVITIES: Yoga, Hiking, Fishing, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Navigation Skills, Team Building
