The PTCA will be providing spirit day shirts for all students free of charge. The email to sign up was sent out on August 22nd. We will be having a spirit day 1 or 2 times per month all year. Below is the schedule. Please encourage your child(ren) to wear their shirt those days.

Attention Kindergarten Parents

The district will no longer accept calls or emails to building secretaries in order to add/remove someone on your child's green kindergarten transportation form. A new form must be completed if you would like any changes made. Please contact the office if you need a new form. Thank you.

Attention 4th and 5th grade parents! Elementary Band sign ups are happening now!

This week, the elementary band directors, Mrs. Mumie and Mr. Yoder, visited each elementary building to share information about joining the band. During their presentation, all of the band instruments were demonstrated, and all students were invited to “Meet the Instrument Night.”

On Wednesday, September 6 at 6:30 PM in the Middle School East Cafeteria, we are proud to present “Meet the Instrument Night” in partnership with Zeswitz Music. This event is designed to give students the chance to try out different instruments on sterilized mouthpieces and learn more about the band program. Representatives from Zeswitz Music will share information about their rental programs and the Boyertown Music League will have a treat for students as well! If you are interested in hearing more about the band program, please fill out the interest form at this link: bit.ly/BASDElemBandInterest Final registration for the band program will take place during “Meet the Instrument Night.”

Attendance is an important factor in educational success.

Parents are required to do one of the three procedures written below. Please read them carefully:

• Parents/guardians may send an email to attendanceNHUF@boyertownasd.org from the email address of the parent/guardian on file with the district by 9:00 AM on any day that their child will be absent or tardy. This form of communication will not need a phone call or follow-up handwritten note.
• Parents/guardians may use the district website/app and fill out the absence note by 9:00 AM. This form of communication will not need a phone call or follow-up handwritten note.
• Parents/guardians may call the attendance line 610-754-9599 by 9:00 AM on any day that their child will be absent or tardy. However, absences must be followed up with a handwritten parent note or doctor's note within three days of the student's return to school. Failure to submit the appropriate note within three days will result in the absence being coded as unlawful, and this coding cannot be reversed even if a note is handed in after the three day window. Once a student has received three unlawful absences, a truancy elimination plan may be enacted. This plan could lead to a citation from the District Magistrate.

Educational trip forms must be completed and submitted for approval at least 2 days prior to the trip. Trip forms are available in the school office as well as on the BASD website.

Annual First Day Student Paperwork

On Wednesday, Sept 6th there will be a DISTRICT WIDE K-5 ELD orientation for parents and students 4:15 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. All English as a Second Language parents and students are welcome to attend this “welcome” session being held at Boyertown Elementary School which will include student activities and parent information.

Below you will find information regarding health room procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the health room nurses at 610-473-1770.

Physical & Dental Forms: All state mandated Kindergarten and 3rd grade private dental forms and all Kindergarten private physical exam forms are due now. If you have an upcoming appointment, please notify the health room of the appointment and we will make note of the date in your child’s record.

Medication Information: If your child requires prescription or over-the-counter medication while at school, a medication authorization form (found on the BASD website) must be completed by your physician. Once completed, please submit the paperwork, and then contact the health room to schedule an appointment to drop off your child’s medication. Prescription medications must be in an original pharmacy labeled container. Over-the-counter medication must be in original packaging. Please refer to the BASD website for more information.

Returning Paperwork: Please return any health room forms (Physical, Dental, Medication) via email if possible. You can scan and email the original document or email a photograph from your phone to either ewismer@boyertownasd.org or ekovach@boyertownasd.org

Change of Clothing: Please consider keeping a change of clothing in your child’s backpack. Clothing can become soiled due to a bathroom accident, fall outside in the mud, or because of spilling food/drink. The health room may not have appropriately sized clothing, so if your child does have an accident of any sort, a parent will be called to bring clothing in for the child.
