Kirk Fenton News
15th March 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
This week has seen another very busy week at school. On Tuesday pupils from Year 6 represented the school at the district debating competition where they performed very well and Elliot was awarded the title of best boy! Also on Tuesday, we were visited by the NSPCC who talked to the children about their right to speak out to a trusted adult. The assemblies were very age appropriate and gave the children advice about what they should do if they ever felt they needed to talk to an adult about something that be worrying them. Following on from this, the NSPCC will be running a workshop for parents regarding internet safety. If you would like to attend this meeting, please let the office know as soon as possible.
This week I have also met with the new Parent Council. This was a very productive meeting and I am looking forward to working closely with this group of parents in the future. Please do let me know if you are interested in joining the group.
Have a great weekend

Early Years and Year 1 Playgrounds – Clearance Sat 6th April
Remember Ground Force? Well, Friends are organising a similar overhaul of the EY and Y1 playgrounds! Please let us know if you can help with the first stage of this, the clearance day, which will take place on Sat 6th April. The day will involve moving unwanted or broken things into a skip, jetwashing, sweeping down and a bit of pruning and tying back. Are you able to help?
Also, we are hoping for donations of unwanted brushes, rollers, paint trays or empty paint tins for our volunteers to use in the Easter holidays.
We are really excited about making this dramatic change to the outdoor environment for our younger children, they will benefit greatly from it. If you can donate or volunteer, please get in touch: friendsofkirkfenton@gmail.com
19th March Meeting
You are all welcome at our next meeting. 7.30pm Fenton Flyer, Tuesday 19th March. We will be discussing the Summer Fair, The Playground Project and a possible future project we want to raise money for. Come along if you want to find out more!
