APRIL TWITTER CHALLENGE
Safety and Security: Front Doors Locked UPDATE
THERE WILL NO LONGER BE AN ADULT MANNING THE DOOR!
We now have THREE keyless entry doors at DOerre!!! There is one in front, one by the cafe and one by the T buildings!!! We only received 10 key cards, so we will be ordering more so that every employee has one. We have given the first few to the early birds. Now, if you already have a key....nothing changes, just let yourself in like normal.
THERE WILL NO LONGER BE AN ADULT MANNING THE DOOR! There are to be no students allowed into the building before 8 AM without an adult meeting them at the door.
Be sure to tell them where they can enter the building. Please do not let someone come to you at 7:30 and then release them at 7:45 if they finish early. You are responsible for them until 8.
LAST CALL! Doerre PTO Teacher Requests DUE TODAY
Each year the Doerre PTO is pleased to be able to offer financial support to all
departments by way of specific faculty requests. We are able to do this through the
fundraisers we conduct throughout the school year. Please take advantage of this
opportunity if your classroom or department is in need of materials. While we cannot
promise approval of every item, the PTO strives to fund as many campus enrichment
materials and enhancements as possible that we feel add a significant supplement to
the overall climate at Doerre Intermediate School.
Examples of past approvals:
• LOTE: educational online subscription to Quia for interactive learning
• Clinic: MobilAid Trauma Bag
• Campus-Wide: audio speakers for 30 classrooms
• SpED: sensory items for Making Connections
• Athletics: Partially funded replacement of 30-y.o. weight room equipment
• Science: Website licensing for STAAR Smart from EduSmart
• Social Studies: Website licensing for Storyboard That

Letter from the Doerre PTO
Dear Doerre Faculty and Staff,
The PTO would like to thank you for all you’ve done thus far to promote our main fundraiser of the 2018-2019 school year - the Car Raffle. Selling tickets with us expands our reach so much, even amongst Doerre families, when students can buy tickets on their parents’ behalf directly from you. If you do not keep tickets in your classroom (check out from Ms. Chu), please direct students to make that purchase in the front office and to mention you as the seller so you get incentive credit! The drawing will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 7:45PM in the Doerre Cafeteria at the conclusion of our PTO Spring Spree Event 5-8PM.
We are also deep into soliciting items and baskets for our concurrent fundraiser - the Online Silent Auction, which will be open May 1-7, 2019. Please consider organizing an entry with your department. We would also appreciate donations from clubs, organizations, and academic or sports teams, so if you’re a Sponsor or a Coach, maybe your group could make a contribution. I’ve included two lists attached - one shows some past contributors and their themes and the other consists of other potential themes. Deadline is April 24. You may email me for pick-up.
* FOR THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY CHOSEN ITEMS +/- THEMES, PLEASE EMAIL THAT INFORMATION TO ME SO WE DON’T HAVE SEVERAL SIMILAR ENTRIES.*
One final way to assist us is by letting us know if you have a student whose parent(s) own a business. Since that would be a potentially awkward outreach for you to make, please alert us so a PTO Board Member could approach the business directly if we have not already reached out to them. We are all hitting the pavement contacting local store-front businesses, area sports teams, sightseeing venues, attractions, home-based businesses, and corporations in an effort to make this additional fundraiser a great success!
At the end of the day, what we achieve will directly impact our students, our classrooms, and our campus. The Doerre PTO is dedicated to helping make your life easier whenever and wherever we can. You hold enormous positions as major influencers in our children’s lives, and we want you to know how much we appreciate it! We are committed to provide both needs and wants for your classroom because we are committed to our kids. We are driven to support you outside of the classroom because you deserve it. Thank you so much for partnering with us to exceed our goals!
Please find the theme lists and a summary of the incentives you will earn for fundraiser participation attached.
Best regards,
Heather Stiegman, Doerre PTO President, heatherdoerre@gmail.com
