Reading

We will finish our unit on the Revolutionary War with some in class reading assignments. Students will have short stories to read and questions to answer over each. These stories cover Historical Sites in Boston, the first submarine built and attempted to be used in the Revolution and women of the Revolutionary War.

When we return from break, we will begin a new novel unit.

Language

Students will test over affixes on Wednesday.

Use the following website to find common affixes and their meanings. Your student will come home with a list to study.

Chocolate Day

On Wednesday and Thursday, students will learn about the history of, properties of, and general knowledge about chocolate. They will make their own Tootsie Rolls. Thank you to all who have donated items for the day and to those who are still sending in items to help make the day a success!

Class Party

Although, we don't really have a party, we will be watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Friday. Anyone who would like to donate drinks or treats for the students to snack on during the movie would be appreciated. Please contact me to let me know if you can help out.

Thank you in advance!
