Begin by developing good reading habits.
Try pre-reading. Survey the text. Look at the headings, topics and sub topics. Then, try a first read. Next, read for meaning. What is the author's claim? What evidence does the author use to support the claim? Is the evidence valid? Why or why not?
Introduction
Start with something to draw your reader in : question, quote, anecdote, etc. add background information needed to help the reader under stand your topic. Reference author and title of writing you will discuss. Thesis- will you agree or disagree with this author?
