What is the Great Seal
The Great Seal is a seal that is used to authenticate or prove certain documents. It was first adopted in 1782 and was meant as a national symbol. It represents freedom and liberty and has the bald eagle with an olive branch and some arrows(shown above). It was made by Charles Thompson and the idea of a seal was on July,4 1776 on independence day. It is an important symbol that can be seen on the one dollar, but not much where else in public.
