Our Mission
At Hopkins Elementary School we are collaboratively helping children achieve their personal best while increasing student achievement.
Our Vision
At Hopkins Elementary School we are working together to cultivate learners, empower families, and strengthen communities.
From the Principal's Desk
Hopkins Families,
Over the past three years I have served as your proud principal and learned so much about our AMAZING community! Help us continue to provide a world-class experience by partnering with us to make each day great at the HOP for each and every student.
Our school is HOPPING with many fun and exciting activities that celebrate all children! Our teachers, support staff, and administrators want to keep hearing from you to help us support your child future-ready!
Thank you all for your flexibility last month as we are getting modifications to our front lobby. Gwinnett County Public Schools is installing security vestibules at the entrance of each school. We now have the framing complete, and the new set of additional doors will be installed in the next couple of months. As the project continues we will provide timely updates.
We look forward to seeing families at our Thanksgiving Family Feasts later this month. See below for details and more to come from your teachers!
Proud to be YOUR Principal,
Gabriel Zaragoza

Hopkins Elementary School Council Dates 2022-2023
HOPKINS SCHOOL COUNCIL:
The A+ Education Reform Act of 2000 established school councils in Georgia to bring communities and schools closer together in a spirit of cooperation to achieve the following: solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision-making process. In short, School Councils provide advice, recommendations, and assistance to principals and local boards of education. Hopkins school council meets four times a year.

5 Ways to Build Math into Your Child's Day
AKS at Home
As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, the school district seeks to empower parents with tools that allow them to help their children at home. Our AKS at Home project provides math and language arts resources to support families of children in grades K-5 so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. This support is available for families to access in the format that suits them and their schedule best. They can attend live virtual meetings, view recorded information, and gain tools and suggestions on how to best help their children through tip sheets on a wide variety of topics.
We invite our families to sign up for a virtual session to learn more about how they can support their children.
Tip Sheets and Recordings can be accessed by selecting the appropriate grade level. Recordings will be available at the end of each session series.
Community Engagement: Lilburn Christmas Parade, Holidays @ the HOP
Please be on the lookout...Hopkins will be participating in the Lilburn Christmas Parade. A form is going home with your student to sign up to participate.
Reindeer Lane Holiday Gift Shop
Our Reindeer Lane Holiday Gift Shop is back November 28th - December 2nd. This is an optional service provided through our business partners Reindeer Lane. Students can bring cash to make purchases. Part of the proceeds will go to the school.
