Spearhead Newspaper offers FUN survey!
The Spearhead Newspaper would like to invite you guys to fill out a completely anonymous survey answering questions about high school and your time here. This survey will be featured in this year's October Newspaper. Students have the opportunity to answer questions like “Have you ever tripped up the stairs?” and “Have you ever fallen asleep in class?” with the choice of entering their first and last name for a chance to win a prize basket, one from each grade. Have fun Spartans!
DISCLAIMER: The survey is completely anonymous and names are only being used for a raffle if you choose to enter. We are only looking at the percentages of each answer, not who said what. In other words, we don’t care if you’ve cheated on a test and wont snitch to the admin or staff. This is simply just a fun survey for the newspaper.

September Students of the Month
September students of the month are being recognized for an exemplary demonstration of Challenge in our Spartan CHARGE. These students will receive a certificate presented by Dr. Taylor, recognition on Social Media and in our Spartan Daily News, a ticket to homecoming and entry to all home events the month of October.
9th-Cohen Nguyen
Cohen Nguyen has stepped up to the challenge. As a first year journalism student, he took the initiative to write two stories for the newspaper, notably very important coverage of the Battle Barrow. For this story he took the initiative to arrange to meet the Barrow Spirit Guides on their first outing and covered the event, including gathering interviews and taking photos. Cohen had since taken on the challenge of leading arts coverage in the student newspaper as the arts and entertainment editor. He is also extremely active in marching band and a EEE and honors student. Cohen has arrived to Battle ready to meet (and exceed!) its challenges and we look forward to seeing what he does next!
10th-Emily Lee
Emily is a naturally quiet and reserved person. She has challenged herself this year by joining the girls golf team, with no golf or other athletic experience and stepping up her involvement and leadership with Student Council. After attending the MASC State Convention last spring, Emily worked to implement Feel Good Week and has provided consistent hard work in all areas of her involvement with Student Council.
11th-Camden Fallon
Last year we had five total students compete on our speech and debate team at Battle and two graduated and two knew they would not be able to commit much this year leaving Camden as our only returning active Varsity member. Instead of walking away he made a commitment to proudly walk into our first tournament with a team he recruited and nurtured. He created a digital sign up sheet in the spring and put himself out there to pop into classes and sell our program to peers. He sat at Call to Battle and worked to recruit. He has visited freshman classes at the start of this school year always going in and using enthusiasm and energy to convince people to join our small but mighty team. This was a super step outside the comfort zone and it totally paid off. Our room was packed at our first recruitment meeting. Students have been showing up to prep for our first tournament of the year and we have some signed up to compete in October. I know the team will just keep growing under his leadership. It’s so east to give up when trying to grow a program. Rather than being intimidated by the success and size of Rock Bridge Camden has used it to inspire himself. He said “I want that for Battle” and now works it into conversations whenever he can. He has challenged himself to make it happen!
12th-Denim Allen
Denim works hard in all that she does, which is a lot. She strives for success and helps others to achieve the same. She is relentless in her pursuit of bettering herself, the BHS community and the world around her. Despite any obstacle that is in front of her, she rises to the challenge and overcomes time and time again. She is an AVID Scholar, challenges herself in her classes, is involved in athletics, remains positive and does whatever she can to bring that positivity to others through her encouraging nature and approach. Denim is the epitome of BHS values.
It's a GREAT day to be a Spartan!
