Jordan/Jackson News You Can Use
July 31, 2023
Dear Families,
I hope you are enjoying your summer! I would like to officially welcome those of you who are new to the Jordan/Jackson Elementary School. We are excited to welcome you and your child(ren) to our fun and welcoming school! To all of our returning families, we look forward to seeing you all again this upcoming school year.
Over the coming weeks, you will continue to receive this family newsletter. We hope that you not only find it informative, but we hope to give you a glimpse into some of the engaging activities and enriching student work that takes place on a daily basis.
In the meantime, here are a few notes/reminders:
We do not require students to purchase specific school supplies. We have all the basic supplies that students will need for the upcoming school year. However, we know that students and families will have individual preferences and you are welcome to send your student to school with whatever supplies work best for them.
Classroom placement notifications will be sent to all families across the district, later in August (exact date to follow), prior to the District Open House (8/31).
See the sections below for important dates, some activities from the end of last school year, the Third-Grade Transition Presentation & Video and more.
Thank you,
John Nieratko
Principal

JORDAN/JACKSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RAISES OVER $4,000
FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY DURING STUDENT VERSUS STAFF BASKETBALL GAME
MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy and Principal John Nieratko are pleased to share that Jordan/Jackson Elementary School students, staff and families participated in a students versus staff basketball game this past June to raise money for people affected by cancer.
The game served as a fundraiser to support the fight against cancer while bringing staff, students and families together to celebrate a great year. Through ticket sales and donations, the Jordan/Jackson community raised $4,416 which was donated to the American Cancer Society.
Please read Superintendent Murphy's press release from June 15th regarding the event:
