Cloud Collaboration Training
Teachers of Mathematics
Improving math state exam scores is a high priority in accomplishing the school’s goal of obtaining an A rating. In response to the demands of the new common core and new teacher evaluation system there is a greater demand for teacher collaboration. In an effort to meet your school’s goal to improve test scores you will be trained on how to collaborate using cloud tools. Using cloud tools will impact time efficiency, streamline processes, improve accessibility, math coach can monitor work less paper waste and there are many more advantages we will discover.
Your department consists of ten end users. The Nine end users are 6,7 and 8th grade general and special education teachers and your coach. The department members day to day responsibilities for common planning include: lesson plan collaboration, unit plan collaboration, student assessments planning, student data analysis and sharing, grades creation and sharing, teacher reflections. Some teachers are issued laptops and those teachers with smartboards are given macs. A need analysis form has been created to further assess individual training needs of the department. You are required to have your laptops and/or macs available throughout the training.
AGENDA
Day 1 and Day 2 Training
9:00 - 9:15 Greeting/ Introductions
9:15 - 9:35 20 min. video introduction to google drive (All participants)
9:35 - 9:40 In pairs create a list of at least three relevant discussion questions or noticings pertaining to google drive video.
9:40 - 10:00 Share out questions. Students and instructor will answer pair questions and discuss.
10:00 -10:05 Break
10:05 - 10:10 5 minute video tutorial on creating a google form. (All particpants)
10:10 - 10:30 Participants will break into groups by grade level. Groups will brainstorm possible uses for google form for example ways to support instruction or practices with present unit or lesson.
10:30 - 10:35 2 min. video on sharing google documents. (All participants)
10:35 - 11:00 Instructor led discussion, question/answer, wrap up and looking ahead to tomorrow.
Homework- Brainstorm and create questions relevant to your students to create your own form tomorrow.
Day 2 Morning
9:00 - 9:10 Welcome back/ Greetings
9:10 - 9:30 Instructor will review Google Drive
9:30 - 9:40 Screencast on creating a google form
9:40 - 11:00 Participants will create their own google drive accounts and create forms and documents by grade.
11:00 - 11:30 Review and participants will answer google form questionaire.

2 Min. Video on Sharing Google Docs
