Immunization Exclusion Day
Last Reminder...
Immunization Exclusion Day will be Wednesday, February 19th, 2020.
Immunization parent notification letters went out earlier this week. The front page of the letter will tell you the immunizations that our records indicate your child is missing. The back page shows your child's immunization status.
Please note your child’s updated immunization status or exemptions must be completed and returned to the school by Friday, February 14th, 2019 (there is no school Monday and Tuesday, February 17th and 18th). All students with incomplete vaccine records will be excluded from school starting Wednesday, February 19th, 2020.
If your child's last Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (DTP, Td, Tdap) dose was prior to age 7, they become due for a booster at age 12.
Please note, you will receive a letter in the mail if your child’s immunization records are incomplete. If you do not receive a letter, your child’s immunizations are up-to-date, and no further action is required on your part. Parents can view immunization records in their ParentVue accounts at any time.
You need to complete one of the following actions prior to February 19th if you received a letter in the mail regarding immunizations.
- If your child has received the vaccines, turn in the documentation with the dates to the school office.
- If you want a non-medical exemption for your child, complete the required education regarding immunizations and return the certificate to the school office. The module can be found at www.healthoregon.org/vaccineexemption.
- If your child needs a medical exemption, you must provide documentation to the school. The information needed from the doctor is stated on the Certificate of Immunization Status Form.

Many of you are now aware of the public health concerns regarding young people vaping, which have led the FDA to call the use of e-cigarettes among teens an epidemic. The first Tuesday's time together will be an educational forum to build awareness and helpful tips for parents regarding substance use. The goal of this evening is to support your children in making healthy choices and strengthen our school and community partnership.

- Head-shot (photo taken from chest/torso to top of head, like a passport photo)
- Blank or neutral background (it could be taken against a wall in your home)
- File name is your full name as it appears in your volunteer profile: FIRST_LAST.jpg
Send photo to StollerPTOVol@gmail.com. If you prefer a nickname printed on your badge, please specify that in your message.
Completed badges will be available in the alphabetical file boxes by the volunteer sign-in computer.
All volunteers must have a volunteer profile on file. If you are new to volunteering at Stoller, please visit www.stollerpto.com/volunteer for information on how to apply for a volunteer account or how to add Stoller Middle School to your current profile.

PTO 50 for 50 Fundraiser - Update
Thank you for your donations toward our Stoller PTO 50 for 50 Fundraiser. It’s not over!
To date, 20% of Stoller families have contributed to raise $34,358 through direct donations and company matching. We invite ALL Stoller families to contribute.
In order to create a 2019-2020 budget to support our programs, we were forced to dip into our reserve funds. These funds must be replenished, and we count on your continued donations to fill the gap.
If your family is not yet represented in the contributions, we urge you to donate $50* (or whatever amount fits best for your family).
How do I donate?
- Write a check to Stoller PTO (drop in Main Office) or
- Donate online www.stollerpto.com/donate.
Will my employer match my donation? Many employers do! Please email StollerPTOTreas@gmail.com to request a tax deductible receipt for your donation that is valid for company matching.
Nike Matching link: https://we.nike.com/login > Give Money > Make a Matched Donation
Intel Matching link: http://goto/getmatched (Internal Site) > Get Matched > Quick Links > Request a Match (Matching request must be completed in the same quarter as the donation. Please submit your request as soon as possible.)
Your support helps us make Stoller Middle School an excellent experience for students and staff.
Thank you!
Stoller PTO
* 8th Grade Families: Please contribute an additional $40 to Stoller PTO ($90 total) to cover the cost of your child attending the 8th Grade Celebration on June 12 at KingPins (bowling, arcade, food, and fun!). Include your child’s name in the memo line of the check or in the “Write a note” field of the online form. Questions? Contact Stoller8Grade@gmail.com.
Maker Space Donations
Are you looking for somewhere to recycle items you no longer need? The Stoller Maker Space is the perfect place to donate unused, everyday, ordinary items. We only ask that these items are usable and clean.
Students are welcome to drop off these items at our Maker Space Drop-Off in front of Stoller's Maker Space. The Maker Space is located at the entrance of Blue Hall in the Lower Forum. Your donated items will be organized and then made available to teachers and students for class projects and activities.
Currently, a 6th grade team is looking for some Maker Supplies for an Engineering Design project. They are in need of straws, tooth picks, pipe cleaners, solo cups, string, clothes pins, paper plates and bowls. Additionally, a 7th grade team is looking for some Maker Supplies for a Stop Motion Animation project. They are looking for Play Doh and no longer wanted LEGO pieces. Especially the LEGO mini figs.
The Maker Space Supply Drop-Off is open all year and we will update you with student projects and specific supply needs.

The application window for the District’s full day options programs & schools is now open. The application window closes Friday, December 6, 2019. When the weather outside gets inclement, school schedules could be affected. The District generally makes inclement weather decisions by 5:15 a.m., posting them by 5:30 a.m. on the District website and on social media. All Portland Metro area media outlets are also notified and announce the information on TV newscasts and online. Parents and guardians that have opted in for SchoolMessenger will receive timely notifications.
The District makes decisions based on the ability to operate school buses safely; the ability of parents and students to drive safely; and the ability of students to walk safely. The decision that is made will be for the entire District. (As always, parents may choose to make different decisions based on their particular location.)
For the latest inclement weather information:
- Log onto the District's website: http://www.beaverton.k12.or.us and a page pop will be posted on the main page if there is a change in school operations.
- Beaverton School District Public Safety webpage has information about inclement weather procedures and snow routes. http://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/departments/public-safety/ then click on Inclement Weather Information.
- Follow us on Twitter @BeavertonSD or Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/BeavertonSchoolDistrict/
