Northview Family Communication
August 15, 2022
Welcome Back, Wildcats!
Our staff is so excited to welcome our students back-to-school on Tuesday, September 6!
All of the details, such as the calendar, start and end times, transportation, child care, food service and so much more can be found on our website at https://nvps.net/preparing-for-back-to-school/.
For students in grades DK-4, teacher placement letters and supplies lists were sent in early August. For students in grades 5-12, academic schedules will be available on StudentVUE and ParentVUE on August 26.
IMPORTANT! All student records (for newly enrolled and returning students) must be reviewed in ParentVUE for the 2022-23 year. This annual review is your opportunity to update parent/guardian contact information and electronically sign necessary forms. Need help? Follow this GUIDE. This verification process must be completed prior to accessing student academic schedules.

Summer Construction Update
Recently, the Northview Board of Education toured the renovations happening across the district. We are happy to report that as of today, our school buildings are scheduled to open on time! We will keep you up-to-date on any anticipated construction delays.
We wish to thank the Northview voters for passing the May 2020 Bond, which made these extensive renovations possible. Visit nvps.net/bond to learn more! A few highlights of the construction improvements are:
- Secure entries in all school buildings
- Updates in classrooms and learning spaces
- Install air conditioning
- Upgrades in instructional and building technology
- Purchase new school buses
We are currently planning "end of renovations" celebrations for late September/early October.
Stay tuned for more details to come!
Join us for a Northview Tradition -- Black Out 2022
Make plans to join us for the 13th annual Black Out event! You have the chance to be a part of an event that will impact many lives, particularly children who are on a journey to overcome pediatric cancer. This event not only raises money for families battling this disease, but it also brings us together as a community to do our part to help others.
On Friday, September 16, Wildcat Stadium will be packed with supporters wearing special Black Out t-shirts at the varsity football game. Starting today, event T-shirts are available at the Northview Administration Building ($10 donation for short-sleeved, $20 for long-sleeved). Thank you to our friends from Independent Bank who made a very generous donation to help with the cost of the t-shirts. We thank them for their passion and for sharing this cause with Northview! Don't miss this event and the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life!

Belonging and After-School Engagement (BASE)
In spring 2022, Northview launched a district-wide initiative to engage students in after-school activities throughout the school year. We called it BASE -- Belonging and After-School Engagement!
This fall we are pleased to offer our students new opportunities (and some returning favorites) for after-school engagement. Please access the Fall 2022 BASE Program to view these exciting options. Programs vary by school building and/or grade level. Please register for programs offered within the school building your child attends. All of the courses offered through BASE are 100% FREE!
Please register at least 5 days prior to the class date so instructors can plan their curriculum, supplies and purchases accordingly. ONLINE registration is now open at https://nvps.revtrak.net/rw-b-a-s-e-belonging-and-after-school-engagement-/
Questions about specific courses should be directed to the BASE Coordinator at the school building.
COVID Corner
COVID-19 continues to be present in our community and like all communicable diseases, if your student is showing symptoms, we ask that you keep your child home and notify the front office of your child's school building.
There are currently no epidemic orders from the MDHHS, however, we do encourage families to follow the recommended CDC/MDHHS guidelines. To learn more, please click on the chart below.
