Dear Families,
Time is truly flying by. I can hardly believe that spring break is already upon us, although the winter weather might still persist. I hope that you have had a chance to connect with your child’s teacher in our most recent communication nights to see what great growth is happening at school.
Here are a few things of note that have been happening around here:
February was both “I Love to Read Month” and “Black History Month”. Classrooms explored and celebrated literature at a new level and also celebrated many of the historical and current contributions made by famous black Americans.
Mrs. Rieke tapped into the creative, scientific genius of our scholars during the Science Fair. All fifth graders must participate in this presentation, and many of our first through fourth graders also participated. It was a great celebration of innovation, research, and design!
3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been participating in learning a new instrument, the Gamelan. The gamelan is an Indonesian instrument which has been traveling through the district along with an expert instructor, Joko. Our fourth graders performed their new songs in a concert this week.
Our building instructional team of teachers shared out some of the exciting stories of student growth with the superintendent and district office team. Our team was complimented for the Equity practice of digging in to provide supports and extensions for each child.
Thank you for the ways you continue to partner with us in your child’s education. Enjoy your spring break!
