BJH ATHLETIC NEWS AND EVENTS
9TH GRADE FOOTBALL
The boys showed true grit all night long, shutting out Harwood in the first half and limited their offense all night. Standouts were Eric Avila, Mason Erickson, and Big Malakai. Marco Peterson hit a field goal in the 3rd quarter to give us a 3-0 lead. Back came the Blackhawks scoring 2 touchdowns to go up 14-3 with 5 minutes left in the game. That's when the Broncos proved they have the right stuff:
Aden Madsen completed a 70 yard TD pass to a wide open Miles Erickson. Then the Defense held up and got the ball back for the offense with a minute to go. On 4th and 13 Aden Madsen found Zarius Pasley on an out route that moved the ball all the way to the 2 yard line where Lorenzo Martinez punched in the winning Touchdown.
Shout out to the great Offensive line coached by Coach B; made up of Cade Cantrell, Cole Hoercher, Brandon Myers, Semar Wa Ngandu, and Big Ol' Malakai.
We take on Hurst Next week at Pennington Field!
9TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
8TH GRADE FOOTBALL
Our 8th grade football teams played on Tuesday night.
Our A team boys fought hard against Heritage but came up short. Led by Jonah Tui with multiple defensive stops by Kole Martin. Grayson Tidwell led a long drive to cap off a brilliant looking score with an underhand shovel pass.
The B team Broncos went against their cross town rivals Heritage. The game was a slug match with very little scoring. It was Jayden Creecy with the Broncos only touchdown of the night.
The Broncos look to get a win against Hurst next week.
7TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
Congratulations to 7th grade volleyball Team 1 for continuing to improve in their loss to Colleyville Heritage Monday night. MuRae Horn led the service attack, the defense was led by Mia Easter-Clark and Sara Thapa-Magar, the transition game was led by Kenslee Turner, Hailee Blocker-Smith and Natalie Roach. Let’s keep improving a win against Hurst next week.
7TH GRADE FOOTBALL
The 7th grade A team Broncos on Broncos matchup Monday night was a heated cross-town rivalry with Colleyville Heritage. Your Bedford Broncos came out hot scoring the first touchdown with big runs coming all night from Cody Vongsypraseuth, Gery Sanchez, and Andre Aguillard. Cody & Gery were able to get the two touchdowns of the night. Our defense was led by Gery Sanchez, Braylon Harris, and Jeremy Martinez. Our boys fought hard all night but several key errors kept us from the win. Thank you for coming out to support the boys. Please come out next week as we take on Hurst Jr High.
Led by a strong running game, the 7th grade football B team got its second win of the season against Colleyville Heritage with a final score of 28-6. Cody Scott led the way with three touchdowns on the night!. Followed by Joseph Roach with his second rushing touchdown of the season. Defensive standouts were Luke Pryor, Drake Washington, Jay’Sean Reese, Nicolas Leyva, and Nathan Smith.
The 7th grade football C1 played first against the Blackhawks and got the dub. The Broncos came out firing on ALL cylinders led offensively by Cassius Provong and Levi Boyer and the entire offensive Line (Dakota Skejet, Jordan Garcia, Ethan Henson, Gideon Floyd, Colby Cave, Pablo Flores and Brendon Gorden). The defense pitched a shutout against a strong Harwood team led by Levi Boyer, Gideon Floyd and Jordan Garcia. Good job Broncos!
Our C2 played the late game against a solid Hurst squad and came up just a bit short as the Red Raiders came up with the victory in the end. Strong outings by Chris Rodriguez, Chastan Martinez, and Shane Bonafiglia, on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, made it a game you didn't want to miss! Hopefully, next week will be better for our Broncos!

BJH GRADING POLICIES
Late Work Policy
It is the philosophy of Bedford Junior High School that allowing a student to not complete all
assignments (and thus receiving a zero on the assignment) is unacceptable. In an effort to ensure that zeroes are kept to a minimum, the following policies will apply to all grades and subjects.
1. If a class assignment or homework assignment is not turned in at the designated time (and therefore late), the student may turn the assignment in to the teacher by 8:20 a.m. the next day past the due date. (For example, if a homework assignment is assigned on a Monday and due on Tuesday during the class time, it will be accepted until 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday.) However, work turned in during this time frame will receive a 30% deduction below the grade earned on the assignment. (For example, a late homework assignment turned in on a Wednesday in the above scenario that was 100% correct would earn a 70% in the teacher gradebook. A late homework assignment turned in on a Wednesday that was 90% correct would earn a 63% in the gradebook since 30% of 90 is 27.)
2. Class assignments or homework assignments not turned in during the above time frames may still be completed in Late Work Lunch Detention (LWLD). The teacher will submit the student’s name on a Google document. Lunch detention is served on the stage in the cafeteria. There is a maximum of 2 days to complete the assignment.
3. Students are responsible for notifying the teacher once work is completed. Work submitted during this time frame will receive a maximum grade of 50. If the work is not completed during this time, students may receive a zero and a referral may be written.
Gradebook Codes
- 0 for students that cannot make up assignment (i.e. cheating, did not turn in the work, or earned a zero on the assignment)
- 1 for students that work is incomplete, potentially turn into a zero or a 50
- X for students that are exempt from assignment
- Z for students that were absent and can get full credit
