Chester Elementary Newsletter

Week of February 22, 2021

Hello Chester Families,

Great things are going on at CES! We are promoting our love for reading with a Read-A-Thon. We are excited to try a new online format while reading, reading and reading. Research shows that the hours children spend reading pays off exponentially over time. Our goal is to get books in student's hands and create a love of reading. Another goal is to fundraise for our PTA. Both goals are a win-win! If you need a tax receipt, be sure to select that from the donation page.

Read-a-thons will engage your reader and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. Our Read-a-thon starts Monday February 22nd 2021.

We've chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

We hope EVERYONE participates.

Other news, our 6th grade participated in Snow School with Rob Wade this week as part of the Plumas Unified 6th grade Outdoor Education program, Feather River Education (FReD). Also, Rob is hosting Zoom learning on Fridays for each elementary grade level which focuses on the Outdoor Education themes. Big thanks to Rob for coordinating this for Plumas Unfied.

Be Good to Each Other,

Colly Fischer
