Eagle News
SME newsletter for families and the community
Dear Parents,
We are excited about this new year and about the great things going on at Six Mile Elementary.
Due to growth in our student population, we have added two new classes this year since school began. We welcome Ms. Spears and Ms. Kay to Six Mile Elementary!
The PLA room was recently remodeled to make it more accessible for students. We will be using it as a STEM lab and multi-purpose room. We are excited about the possibilities for this area.
Teachers in all grade levels will be meeting this month to look at assessment data and plan for instruction for second semester. I appreciate the dedication of our staff to meeting the needs of each and every student. We are also blessed to have three interventionists working with students who are behind in the classroom. Funds from the Academic Recovery Plan are providing these teachers and extra resources to support our students.
We are also very thankful for our community partnerships with local churches, the Cliffs, our PTO, and community businesses who support our school and provide the funding for things we need. Whether it is breakfast, musical instruments, personal thank you notes, library books, playground equipment- our community partners always step up and support us. For this, we are truly thankful!
No School on January 17! Happy MLK Day!
