MWHS Graduation 2020 FAQ
A list of key questions and answers about graduation.
MWHS Graduation at Ram Stadium
Saturday, June 6th, 9am
3801 Ram Boulevard
Mineral Wells, TX
Limited to 6 Per Graduate
Tickets will be distributed to the graduate only on Friday, June 5, 2020 in the drop-off lane at MWHS from 2:00-6:00 pm. This would normally be done during practice, but we are not allowed to have graduation practice this year.
Students will be told in advance if they will be seated on the home or visitor side of the field and tickets will be marked Home or Visitor. Once inside the stadium guests will need to move to their seats. There will be markings on the seats indicating which seats are to be left unoccupied for social distancing and guests will sit on every other row for the same reason.
Guests will be required to practice social distancing entering the stadium, in the bleachers, and exiting the stadium. Gathering for group photos will not be permitted.
ENTERING THE STADIUM
All four stadium entrances will be open to help with social distancing. There will also be markings on the sidewalks to serve as a reminder about social distancing and provide a guide.
EXITING THE STADIUM
Normally parents are encouraged to stay for the entire ceremony. This year students and parents may leave once they receive their diploma for safety and to ease crowding at the end of the ceremony. Once the ceremony is over guests are required to exit the venue.
There will be a professional photographer taking pictures at graduation. Each graduate will receive an electronic copy of the photo free of charge.
PRIVATE GRADUATION Option
If you would prefer for your senior to participate in a private ceremony in lieu of the traditional ceremony on June 6, please e-mail Dr. Funk at firstname.lastname@example.org and he will arrange a time and a process that works for your specific situation. The private graduation alternative offers both indoor and outdoor options that will accommodate up to 15 guests.
Prior to attending or participating in the ceremony, students and attending family members will be screened (via questioning) by school system employees for any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Repeated shaking with chills or muscle pain
Loss of taste or smell
Felling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19 if exposure to the active confirmed case occurred within the last 14 days
Those found with any of these signs or symptoms must be excluded from the activity.
