Principal Allen's Weekly Newsletter
August 4, 2020
Dear Spicewood Elementary Parents
As we receive the results of the parent choice survey, we will be making many decisions for our campus over the next few days. Instructional and safety plans for our campus will be shared with parents via my weekly newsletter and future Coffee with Principal discussions.
In the meantime, I have shared a few campus announcements and dates to remember below.
We are going to make this a great year- the choice is ours!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Allen
Campus Announcements
Beginning of School Year Information
Teacher Assignments
Each student will be assigned a homeroom teacher for the first three weeks of virtual teaching. This year, instead of sending a postcard, teachers will record an introductory message to share with their students. The video will be shared electronically with parents on August 14th.
Meet the Teacher
This year, Meet the Teacher will be a virtual event and will occur on August 19th. Please remain flexible with us as we make final decisions regarding which platform (Google or Schoology) will be used. Specific times for each grade level will be shared soon.
Reimagining Learning Plan
Round Rock ISD has shared very specific details regarding the On- Campus & Virtual Learning Plans. If you haven't already, I encourage you to take a look at the Parent Overview.
Please continue to visit the district's website Reimagining Education 2020-2021 for updates .
Announcements from the Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
School Supply Pick Up
We will hold a Drive Thru distribution on MONDAY 8/17 and TUESDAY 8/18 between 7:30-10am both days. You can come at any time during these two windows. No staff will be onsite and no entry will be allowed in the building.
Please put your last name in your front or side window, that will help move things along. If you have more than one grade pack to pick up - please indicate last name and how many packs - for example: "RODRIGUEZ - TWO"
Please have your order invoice (digital is fine) or photo ID for pick up. We appreciate you helping us with this. If you need a copy of your invoice - please visit: EPI CHECK MY ORDER
The Drive Thru will be at the double doors BY THE GYM (at the back of the teacher parking lot). We will have signs to direct traffic flow. We will be following all masking and distancing protocols - please do the same. Open your truck or roll down a window and we will deliver. We are a very small team so please be patient.
2- If you need to give permission to someone else to pick up your supplies - please make sure that person has your order invoice (digital is fine) and their driver's license so that we may verify. Again - these are the only two days that we will be distributing supplies.
3- Supplies MUST be picked up during these two windows - any supplies not picked up will be donated to the corresponding grade level.
4- There is no option to have your supplies delivered to the classroom. Our administration and teachers are decluttering as much as possible to aid in the required cleaning process set by the authorities.
5- Should you wish to consider a refund - you will need to contact EPI directly. We will not be handling any refunds.
6- SWE PTA does not profit from the school supply sale - it simply is provided at a discounted service to our school.
We hope each of you is staying healthy and safe. We are all in this together!
