Getting Started on the Right Foot!

Hi folks! Hopefully by now you have gotten a chance to see me around campus. If not, I encourage you to stop by the Learning Center and check-in with me. As your Retention Specialist, I want to make sure you are connected to the many great resources the campus has to offer. One way I hope to keep you informed of campus resources is through this monthly newsletter. Here, I hope to provide you with helpful tips and useful information to staying connected with the ultimate goal to help you start strong, stay strong, and finish strong while in your course (ENG 836 and 847, ESL 400, READ 836, and MATH 120 or 190) and at Cañada.

Please remember that I am also a resources and am happy to help in any way I can.

Tutors are folks that can help explain the course material or homework better. These are students that have already taken the course and performed very well in the class. To get help from a tutor you don't need an appointment. Just come by the Learning Center at the Tutorial Center for help with ESL, READ 836, and ENGLISH; and for MATH 120 and MATH 190 stop by the STEM Center (also found in the Learning Center). The following are SOME tutors that you should look out for. NOTE: There also other tutors that can offer help in other subjects. Let me know if you need help finding one.
