STOP
As you know, we take bullying very seriously in our school. On the whole, our children behave wonderfully well and we are very proud of them. However, sometimes things go wrong and they fall out. Today, we are launching a new initiative to help reinforce the definition of bullying, and what children should do about it. When we’re talking about bullying, we want children to remember STOP. In our school this means that the definition of bullying is: Several Times On Purpose and if this happens then the solution is: Start Telling Other People. Bullying has no place in our school and is completely unacceptable. Staff will deal with it seriously, but to do so they must be made aware that the problem is happening at that time so that they can deal with it properly. We will reinforce these messages with children throughout the coming weeks and will continue to encourage them to always speak to someone if something has gone wrong
FOSS Sponsored Cycle
During June we are encouraging all our children to go out cycling. This can be as much or little as they are able. We would like to see them challenge themselves, as long as they are being safe. The choice of cycling can be up to them – just within their road, or at a bike park, or a longer distance ride, or something adventurous like a mountain bike trail. It’s really up to them! Some ideas are:
- Cycle the Solar System | Day Out With The Kids
- The Swale Trail - New MTB trail for families opens in Yorkshire Dales - The Swale Trail (cyclesprog.co.uk)
- This link has some useful suggestions for family friendly bike rides: Top 10 Yorkshire Family Bike Rides - Yorkshire Tots
We are asking that they get sponsors who will donate money to FOSS. This could be through pledges using the provided sponsor form, or through a direct donation by ParentPay. Every little helps.
Please enter how far the children cycle each week on this form.
As a school, we are trying to cycle a distance that is equivalent to riding to London and back (608km) and it would be brilliant if we could reach this target.

School Lunches
Next week we will be on Week 1 of the lunch menu below.
Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.
Each day there are 3 choices, either the hot dinner, the sandwich or the jacket potato with a choice of topping. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.
Covid Tests for Families
If you’re a member of a household, childcare bubble of a pupil, student or staff of a school, nursery or college, you can get a twice-weekly test:
- through your employer if they offer testing to employees
