Machinal- Theatre presents the first fall show of the year, "Machinal" by Sophie Treadwell. Performances will be Friday, Sept 21 and Saturday, Sept 22. Curtain time is 7PM. Written 90 years ago, but still just as relevant today, "Machinal" follows the story of a young woman who finds herself stuck in a world she does not understand expecting to fulfill a role that she is not sure she wants. As hard as she attempts to fight it, she gets steamrolled by the “machine” of the world around her. The show, a piece of American Expressionist Theatre, held its Broadway premiere in September 1928 starring a fresh-faced Clark Gable in the role of “Young Man.”
