Summer on the Move

This summer has been flying by, and we have been busy making sure that the 2015-2016 school year is going to be memorable. We've added some talented new staff members, attended amazing trainings, and polished every surface to get ready for the arrival of our students.

Back to School Night!

Please, plan to attend. Our teachers are excited to work with you to make your students' experiences here at Winfield Township School as rewarding as possible.


Parents must call the school to report pupils who are absent from school. You may use the answering machine to leave information and messages about pupil absences prior to 7.30 a.m. Between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., you may speak with one of the office personnel to give this information. PARENTS MUST REPORT ABSENT PUPILS BY 8:30 A.M.

Affirmative Action

The Winfield Board of Education shall insure educational opportunity for all students and prohibits discrimination because of sex, race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, social or economic status in educational programs and activities. The district’s Affirmative Action Officer is Ross LeBrun.

Closed Lunch

The school maintains a “closed lunch” program. Pupils may not go home or leave school property for any reason. Parents are requested not to visit the pupils on the school grounds or drop off lunches and other items. Parents are always welcome and permitted to drop off items at the main office. This is part of our “Safe Schools” program. Pupils cannot cross streets or leave the school for any reason.


Student Lunch: Full $2.75 Reduced $.40

Adult Lunch: $3.50

Student Breakfast: Full $1.45 Reduced $0.30

Adult Breakfast: $1.85

Milk: $.50

Students will not be able to run a tab in the cafeteria. If they forget their lunch or lunch money they will be allowed to bring the money in the next day. However, we cannot run an account of money due over numerous days.

Lunch Applications

Students who were on free or reduced lunch will continue in the program until October 1st when the new applications have been reviewed. The Free or Reduced Lunch application is in your packet. This is a very important document and must be completed and returned. This affects our state aid, taxes, and ultimately your child/children.

Monthly Cafeteria Menu

The cafeteria menu will be posted online on the last day of each month. If you wish to receive the menu in a hard copy, please call the school.

PTO Membership

The first meeting of the PTO will be held Thursday, September 10th at 6:45 pm in the school library. We urge you to consider joining. This organization works diligently to make the school culture amazing. Membership cost is $5.00 per family per year for Winfield School Families. For Grandparents and friends the membership fee is $3.00 per year.

Telephone Calls

Should an emergency arise, the office will call the parent. Failure to bring textbooks, homework assignments, sports uniforms or equipment, will NOT be considered as emergency. Please review your child's daily schedule and promote student responsibility with regard to special activities such as music, gym, art, etc.

Visiting the School

ALL PARENTS AND VISITORS must sign in at the school office any time they visit the school. Parents and visitors may not visit the classrooms or playground without permission.

School Hours

School Day (Grades K-8) 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Preschool - AM 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Preschool - PM 12:30 pm – 3:00 p.m.

School Closings

The Blackboard Connect Notification System will alert all those who return the Blackboard Connect Notification Form. Information regarding emergency closings or closings for inclement weather will also be on our website, Facebook page, and text message alert system.
