End of Year Activities

STEM Activities

  • Next week the students will be participating in a couple different STEM activities. We will need empty water bottles for our activity on Tuesday. If you could please send these to school with your child on Monday or Tuesday that would be great. We will be completing the STEM activity on Tuesday afternoon.
  • On Thursday, students will also be completing an activity involving fidget spinners. On this day only, please allow your child to bring their spinner to school. Please know your child DOES NOT have to have a spinner. We will be working in teams and are confident we will have plenty for each group. :)

30 Book Challenge

Congratulations to those kiddos who completed the 30 Book Challenge this year! Students were able to participate in the end of year celebration by having an extra recess and popsicle! We are so proud of all of their hard work!

SIPPS Spelling

Below you will find a link to the SIPPS Spelling Patterns. If you are interested in practicing further, please click through the slideshow below. The first slide explains how we practice spelling in the classroom.

Lost and Found

  • We have a large collection of jackets, sweatshirts and lunch boxes without names in the school Lost and Found. Please look at the Lost and Found inventory on this slideshow to see if anything belongs to your child. This link will be updated every Thursday.

Katherine Browning

This is my ninth year in education. I taught second grade for three years in St. Joseph, Missouri. I then moved to Liberty and this is my sixth year in third grade at Shoal Creek Elementary. I received my undergrad degree in Early Childhood Education from Missouri State University. While teaching in St. Joe, I earned my masters degree in Educational Administration from Park University. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as volunteering at two animal shelters: The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City and Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter.

Jenni Schneider

This is my thirteenth year in education. I taught Social Studies at Truman High School for seven years. I received my Master's Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Reading and realized I wanted to help younger students. This is my fifth year at Shoal Creek teaching third grade. I've loved every minute! I have three kids: Oliver, Ava, and Isabelle. As you can tell, I am very busy at home!
