COOKIE BAR HELP NEEDED!
Back by popular demand! Time to show our teachers and staff some homemade holiday love! With your help, the PTSA will re-create our annual cookie bar in the teacher's lounge on the last day of school. Please bake a few dozen of your favorite family treats! We will provide boxes so our teachers can take home an assortment to their family (or eat them all on the ride home... we won't tell).
To make life easier, a PTSA member will be in the carpool circle to receive your treats on Dec 19th & Dec 20th starting at 7am.
Please have your goodies labeled, especially if your baked goods have nuts.
Not a baker? Not a problem! We have a few store bought items on the list as well!
We hope to continue this holiday tradition for our teachers and appreciate your participation

Internship Overview
An internship is an experience in which a high school student learns by taking on a responsible role as a worker in a company or organization and then reflects on what happened while in the workplace. The Internship Program is a supplement to formal classroom instruction. Its intent is to significantly add to the vitality of the instructional program and to impact the courses that a student has taken or will take. Internships are for juniors and seniors and must be at least 135 hours. Students will earn a credit (1 elective credit) for the internship. All WYWLA seniors must complete an internship by the end of their fall semester. Hours can be earned during the summer between their junior and senior year.
During the internship, students will be completing a workplace orientation and learning objectives, given to them by their internship supervisor. Throughout their internship, students will also be tracking and completing a minimum of 135 contact hours and completing 10 journal entries to document their experience. Supervisors are required to complete an evaluation of the student’s work, which will count for 30% of their grade. As part of the final exit project, student interns will create and give a presentation to review and reflect their internship experience.
If your business/organization is interested in supporting an internship or work-based learning experience, please contact the WYWLA Internship Coordinator, Meredith Mabe (mmabe@wcpss.net), or the WYWLA Career Development Counselor, Frank Reed (freed@wcpss.net).
