4) It is going to be very crowded but we want to be able to create as much space in the middle of the gym floor as we can.
5) The assembly should last around 30-35 minutes and then students will report back to 7th hours to get ready to leave for the day. Keep them in class until the bell ring for dismissal.
6) Buses for our Special Olympians load at 2:20 so the assembly will need to be over by then. They will be the first to leave and then will will dismiss 8th grade, then 7th and then save 6th grade for the end.
I hope this clears up any questions about our send off assembly. Let's make it special for our Special Olympians
Thanks!
Yearbook Sales
No other teachers should be selling books, as we don't want to accept money for a book and not have enough.
This process must be streamlined through Mrs. Luza and no other teachers.
Teacher, DO NOT ACCEPT MONEY FROM STUDENTS!

Grading Window
Since we are nearing the end of testing, we are nearing posting grades for the semester. Below is the schedule for the secondary schools.
Please remind your teachers that they should post grades for students who have completed the requirements for their course. This may include a student who has left school early for an approved reason. If teachers have questions, please instruct them to check with an administrator to determine if they need to post for the specific student in question.
Additional information is available on the Resource Drive. Below are links to the two instructions teachers will need. (See Links provided and follow instructions)
We will run a report this week to make sure your GB has been set up correctly for all classes, including FOCUS which is where we had the most problems.
Additionally, please remember to use the comment drop down for all "D's and F's" appearing on the final report card. Additionally, it is imperative that any student on an IEP have grades adjusted if there has been no review of the IEP specific to the reason...Failing Grade Meeting. This meeting must be in place when the student is near failing or as I say, "Danger of Failing" to make sure teachers are implementing all modifications and accommodations AND if they are if we should include more. If this hasn't happened, which I haven't been in any for 8th grade. Then the student will be passing on the final report card. If you have any questions, please contact the grade level principal, TOR, and Mrs. Heins for assistance. I know that many educators have a philosophical view that is in conflict with the laws written to protect the student on an IEP, but it is necessary that we follow the IEP. So if you want to vent, come see us, and we will listen; but, we will do what is required.
17th-Grading Window Opens at 8:00am
25th-Grading Window Closes at 3:30pm
June 2nd-Viewable to parents at 3:30pm

Engage OK: On the Road
Come see us at EngageOK this summer! The Office of School Support will have an array of presentations including: Maximize Learning While Meeting the Needs of Challenging Students, The ABCs of AMOs, Data Literacy: Exploring State Testing Data, Introduction to School Support and GMS Technical Support.
EngageOK will take place in July at regional sites around the state. Due to the number of locations, there will be no exhibitors this year.
We are excited for thousands of educators to attend this free annual training event, which will offer professional development and important updates on federal and state education law. By offering mini-conferences in various locations, we hope to minimize travel and accommodations for teachers and districts while still offering the professional development they need. This new change will also save the agency funding that can be passed along to schools.
We’ve received several questions about Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) at EngageOK On the Road. We’re happy to announce that the conference will offer some sessions approved for those CEUs. Information will be added to the site soon.
EngageOK will offer some sessions approved for School District Encumbrance Clerks and Treasurers to earn required training points.
