Fall Party Costumes
The Fall party is on Friday, October 28. Students may bring their costume (or part of it) to school if they wish. They will have only a few minutes to dress at the start of the party. The costume needs to be something that your child can quickly slip on over his/her clothes. (Students will not be going to the restroom to change). No masks, hair color, face paint, makeup, or weapons are allowed at school. Please leave all extra accessories at home so they don’t get lost. Thank you for your cooperation.

PBIS Updates
- We are going to begin using Think Sheets here at Kinsner. These reflection sheets will be used with students for both major and minor behaviors. These sheets are a great way for us to have a conversation with the students on the behavior that occurred and different ways they could have handled the situation. If your child brings this paper home, we are asking for your support in talking with your child and signing off on the reflection sheet. Please then send the sheet back to school with your child. Our goal is to provide opportunities for students to learn from setbacks, set goals, and make changes to positively impact their education. We appreciate your support in advance as we work to help all students have success with our PBIS initiative.
- The 5 behavior expectations at Kinsner Elementary are Prepared, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined and Engaged (Kinsner PRIDE). By teaching, posting and reinforcing these expectations, we set the stage for a positive, safe learning environment. Students frequently hear staff refer to the expectations and our goal is for every student at Kinsner to know and exhibit them in all locations within the school and across the campus. Here is a copy of our matrix we use throughout the building to teach these behaviors.
- At Kinsner, we strive to respond to challenging behavior fairly and consistently. In order to achieve this goal, we have developed this chart to assist staff in responding to unexpected behaviors. In addition, having explicit definitions for behaviors increases consistency in determining whether a behavior should be managed in the classroom or in the office. The chart and the definitions are referenced regularly by Kinsners’ teachers. Click here to access the behavior definitions.

Long before the British Invasion, the cash-strapped lords, viscounts, and dukes of Great Britain shifted their focus from hunting foxes and pheasants to more lucrative targets: cash-flush Gilded Age American socialites who were willing to trade their family’s money for an ancient title and often a chilly reception in the British aristocracy. Fans of “Downton Abbey” and “The Gilded Age” on television and film will delight as Anglophile and former U.K. resident Claire Evans recounts the tales of some of the famously loaded young Americans who infused bank accounts of many stately homes, including close relatives of Winston Churchill and Princess Diana. She will also give travel tips if you would like to create a Gilded Age tour for yourself. This event is virtual and will be held on Zoom. Please register online to receive a login.
