Dealey Montessori -Newsletter

October 19, 2022

The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.

Dealey Dragons,

Culture and Data are two big rocks we are working on these next few weeks. Everything our teachers plan and teach in their classroom must be purposeful. They are being thoughtful about the books they share, the lessons they prepare and the diversity they are bringing into the classroom. While reviewing our data, we challenge our master and meets students. We are making sure to differentiate instruction for all students, especially those in the categories that need the extra support. All students deserve an exceptional education and it all starts with the partnership we have between home and school!

Sincerely,

Cristina Ibarra (Principal)

Mrs. Kristina Johnson began as the Principal’s Clerk at Dealey in the winter of 2011. She worked here for over a year, helping organize class list, oversee the application process and handle budgeting for classroom allocations. She always had a smile on and could greet every student and family by name! After learning about the Montessori process that year she worked as a clerk, she wanted to know more about how the Montessori method was implemented day to day in the classrooms. When a position opened in 2012 she decided that in order to best understand the full Montessori experience, she would become a teacher's assistant in the PreK hall. In August of 2012 she joined Mrs. Parrish’s classroom and quickly picked up the Montessori method, classroom norms and all the best practices for communication with parents.

She has been a beloved steadfast figure at Dealey for the last 10 years. After covid hit she made a decision to try something new as she was ready to transition into a different role in education. Mrs. Johnson transitions to Highland Park where she worked in the Positive Behavior departments over seeing children’s IEP minutes, implementing techniques and taught children one-on-one. While this was one step closer to finding her forever place she realized she wanted to return to Dealey. Mrs. Johnson has made her way back home into what for her combines her last 13 years in education, she will still get to serve the students she loves most, the school which she calls home; all while applying a skill set that she loved most! She is so happy to be Dealey’s new Financial Clerk.
