Can you help?
I need 27 -12" by 18" plywood boards for our Washington map project. Are you someone who can cut them and deliver them to the school? Do you know someone who can do this? Please let me know.
Math
When we got back from winter break we started Unit 4 in math. This unit is all about equations and algebra. As soon as we get our order of homework packets in for the unit I will send them your way for extra practice. Thank you for your help with this!
Reading/Writing
In reading we have been practicing finding the main idea of a text. Students have really enjoyed reading the various articles from our National Geographic magazines. Next, we will work on understanding words that are unfamiliar to us, asking questions when we read and comparing and contrasting what we read.
As writers we have switched gears and we are working on writing an opinion essay. The kids are doing a great at including the pieces of an essay in their writing. We will now work on fine-tuning those pieces. As promised I would like to send those home for you to look at. I have a goal of doing that sometime next week.
Washington State
We are in the process of creating a digital version of our regions of Washington map. The next step will be for students to create a relief map using paper mache and paint. Our next step in this unit is to do some research on the National Parks in our state and across the country. Students will work collaboratively with another student to research and compile information about a national park of their choice.
