April 5th Return

Forty-two more students over 5 classes will return to school on Monday. These students will learn at school while the remote cohort continues to learn at home. Here is information related to the return. Please bring all of your supplies back including the computer and charger. Families, please be patient as our returning teachers learn how to teach students in front of them and students at home. Next week might be slower than usual with the learning.

  • All families will meet in the parking lot at 8:30 am.
  • Students will line up 6 feet apart in lines. The new lines will be identified with yellow signs.
  • Please do not park out front. This area is for the buses.
  • Students must bring their own masks that fit.
  • We sanitize hands once we enter or leave any room.
  • All breakfast is eaten in class.
  • Lunches are eaten outside in good weather or in class in bad weather.
  • Sign up for voluntary pool testing here at, https://www.lowell.k12.ma.us/site/Default.aspx?PageID=4570 (Many different languages are present).

COVID Pool Testing

We will continue to COVID pool test on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Our fifth pool testing included 70+ students and staff with pools in 9/10 classes. One case was found through pool testing this week. Letters and emails were sent home on these days. In-school students can sign-up at any time. Paper releases will be sent home with any interested students or use the digital consent on this additional SMORE.

COVID Pooled Testing - Completely Voluntary

Detailed information on pooled testing is available through this additional SMORE in several languages. This is completely voluntary. We do not require this. Lowell Public Schools will be participating in "pooled testing" for COVID. Once we return, students and staff can voluntarily participate in weekly free COVID testing in school. The testing is completed using a short nasal swab and will be done by the nurse or principal. Results will come back within 48 hours. Students in grades 2 and above will do the nasal swab themselves with supervision. We do not have the complete details yet, but interested families will need to fill out a consent form. Here are more details on pooled testing.https://www.smore.com/32nqp
