Leonardo Da Vinci was born on April 15th, 1492 in "Vinci" a small town in Italy. He spent most of his life in hometown Italy. Little is known about his education, but as a child, he went to school and learned how to do art stuff like painting and architecture type things. He was most famous for his paintings, drawings, sculptures, and he was also and engineer, musician, writer, and much more. His patron was the medici
One of Leonardo's most famous paintings was the Mona Lisa.
About the painting...
"Mona Lisa" was created sometime between 1503 and 1506, and could be on of the most popular paintings of today. I find this painting to be so interesting because the girl in the painting has no eye brows or eye lashes. I never noticed this before, and I find it to be interesting. It has no new techniques in it, besides new colors and new styles of art being used. This related to "Humanism" because the painting is about a human, and has no reference to religion in it. Today, you can see this painting in many art books, and copies of it all around the world.
