October Library Happenings: Health, Equality, Safety, and the Arts

AnHS Library Celebrates Teen Read Week, October 16-20th. Encourage your teen to check out books on the key topics of the month. October is Depression Education and Awareness Month, National Art and Humanities Month, LGBT History Month, and Bullying Awareness Month. See how your favorite Titan can get involved below.

Depression Education and Awareness Month

Can you recognize the signs of depression and do you know how to help someone who may be suffering from depression? Take our Quiz to find out. If you think your favorite Titan is suffering from depression, contact one of our school counselors. They will be happy to help you and your teen know the next steps to take.

Meghan Casey, our local Teen Librarian, will be on campus to share all of the great ways teens can be involved and have fun at their local library. She will also have a few more Library cards to pass out.

Families Reading Together

Monday, Oct. 30th, 3:30-4:30pm

Join us and your favorite Titan in the AnHS Library for our next Families Reading Together Event from 3-4 pm. Siblings are welcome. Food and drinks provided! Please RSVP to jmccoy@rjuhsd.us with how many will be attending. Look forward to reading with you.

Upcoming Maker Space Events

Monday, Nov. 6th, 1:45-3pm

Students can join us in the Library for our first Maker Space Launch Event, The Cardboard Creature Challenge. Students will use cardboard to design a cardboard creature of their choice. Winners of the Cardboard Creature Challenge will receive a free book of their choice or a $5 Starbuck's card. Students can work individually or in groups of 2-3 students. They will have the opportunity to build their creatures on 11/6/17 and 11/27/17, after school, and/or during lunch time throughout the month. The Cardboard Creature Challenge will end on 11/30/17. Encourage your child to get involved.

ALL Learning Lab

Does your child need a quiet place to study?

Does your child need tutoring after school?


Join us in the AnHS Library, after school, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 2:35 to 4:30 pm. Students can get help in all subjects, use computers, printers, and calculators, and access Library Resources.


We can even provide documentation for the time the student attended. Just have them ask Miss Raatz for an ALL attendance slip. We are ALL in for student learning and success here at Antelope High School.
