In the Classroom!

Happy Holidays! Our class is almost full. We will be completely full when 2 of our friends from the Scouts/Stuarts turn 3 in January.

This December, we will be talking about the different winter holidays that all of our friends from different cultures celebrate! We are very exited to be making Ornaments with our grandparents as a special art project this month! In our classroom this month, we will also be painting with jello, doing dropper art, making art with Q-tips, doing a Dreidel craft, and making a Kwanzaa candle bracelet. For science, we will be making a rainbow in a jar, doing a sink and float experiment, and dissolving a gingerbread man! Taste Tuesday will be exciting this month with a jam assortment, doughnut cereal, and fruitcake!

· Remind Me App: It's a free app that we're using to for simple reminders like show and share, friend of the week, physical due dates, etc. Our class code is 26kh9g

Operation Tot Spot Gives Back: Pajama Drive

Operation Tot Spot Gives Back- Winning Class gets a Pizza Party and the winning teacher earns PTO!!!

We are teaming up with Scholastic and participating in a pajama drive. We are collecting until December 13th.

Who are the pajamas and books helping?

The pajamas and books are helping at-risk children (ages 0–18) throughout the country. Often homeless, in foster care, or in poverty, their unstable, uncertain lives make them uniquely vulnerable as bedtime approaches. Each night, millions of children in this country have no bed to call their own—let alone pajamas to change into or books to escape into—and so they have no concept of a loving bedtime. The treasured ritual of changing into clean pajamas and tucking in with an enchanting bedtime story are unknown; some of these children, in fact, have never heard of pajamas

What pajama sizes are needed the most?

Although Pajama Program accepts new pajamas in all sizes, the most overlooked ones are generally children’s sizes 8 to adult 3XL. It is often the bigger, older children who are left out.

What kinds of pajamas should I collect?

New pajamas only.

Pajamas should be a complete set—a top and bottom, or an appropriate nightgown.

Pajamas for all seasons, but especially warm, cozy ones to help the children on our list during the long, cold months at this time of year.

Tax Time is Approaching...

Dear Tot Spot Families,

I am sending this email because we are getting close to the end of the year and therefore close to tax season. Because of our changes from Rapid Tuition to Tuition Express there will be two-year end summaries (a mid year summary for Rapid Tuition and a year-end summary). I emailed all our families when we transferred from Rapid Tuition at the time of the change, so please check your email history for that email. As far as Tuition Express, every family has direct access to your billing receipts through www.myprocare.com . If you have already signed up with www.myprocare.com you are ahead of the game. However, if you have not, you can register from this link www.myprocare.com. You will use the email you received this message from to login. If you have any problems, please let me know.

Thanks again,

Michael Ramsey

Let it Snow Let it Snow Let it Snow

We love Snow!! Well I don't, but all the kiddos love it and I love providing snow during the day so you don't have to worry about it at night. I'm hoping we get enough for a snowman at least once this season. So on days that we are in the clear to go outside, we will be out for at least 5-10 minutes. Please make sure to bring in hats, gloves, coats, and boots if you have them. Also make sure there is always a backup outfit in case we make snow angels or get our clothes too wet. Thank you :)

Goodbye Summer....Hello Sickness! :(

As you all know cold season is approaching. Please help us prevent the spread of sickness by making sure to wash your kiddos hands in the morning before leaving. Talk to them about pretending to be an elephant and covering their mouth with their elbow (Use your sleeve, don't spread disease) Please encourage singing their hand washing song and most importantly....using the paper towel to turn the faucet off. Thank you for all your support in keeping TTS as healthy as we possibly can!!

Scholastic

I'm super excited for some Holiday books this month...are you?? Check out all the deals for this month!! Scholastic will be sent out December 4th and will orders will be due December 13th. Our online code is HQ686

Healthy Start Wisdom

Grinch Kabobs

December definitely seems to be the season of cookies, candy, and over eating! Fight that feeling by having your kids help you make these yummy Grinch kabobs for a healthy snack!

The Book Nook

I Will Never Not Ever Eat A Tomato

In the Sawyers' classroom, we have been talking a lot about trying new foods. We do this every week with Taste Tuesday, but we encourage trying new things and retrying things we think we don't like every day at lunch. With the holidays coming up, it's the perfect time to eat yummy favorites and try some new things too, even if you think you wont like them! This story about a picky eater who says she will never eat a tomato, among other foods, is the perfect book for both picky eaters and non-picky eaters alike! We have this book in our classroom right now, and the kids absolutely love it!

Book Exchange

As the holiday season approaches we would like to focus on a great life skill...giving! To help demonstrate that giving makes everyone feel loved, we would like to do a gift exchange. We are asking that each Sawyer bring in ONE unwrapped unisex book so we can exchange them and spread love to our sawyer friends. We are asking that they be brought in by December 13th. Thank you and if you have any questions please let me know!
