Mindfulness: Cultivating Wellness in Educators for Social Emotional Learning
COVID-19 has impacted all of us individually and collectively. Wellness has come to the forefront of education as it relates to staff, students and community. The Roadmap prioritizes staff wellness which is the focus of this training along with incorporating mindfulness practices personally and professionally. Once staff have established their own practices they have the opportunity of incorporating these practices into their virtual or in-person classrooms. 9/24/20; FREE, In County Only, 3 SCECHs available. School Wellness Program
The Building Healthy Communities: Step Up for School Wellness program provides students, teachers and administrators with the training, curriculum, equipment, funds, communication tools and external coaches needed to create a healthy school environment that supports a culture of wellness.
This year the program has been expanded to include virtual options, additional resources for mental health through social emotional learning, and food delivery support to address the evolving mode of delivery for school meals. Under the expansion, all Michigan schools are now eligible to apply, even if they previously participated in a Building Healthy Communities program. Applications are due September 30 and recipients will be announced in the fall.
