Congrats to Clark junior, Evan McCarthy, who is a runner for the MCHS cross country team. He was given the Tiger Award as he embodies what it means to be a Tiger... and a Crane! We agree he is a stellar young man, too!
Many thanks to Rebecca Hickey and her colleague from the MCSO Crime Lab for sharing their expertise as Crime Scene Investigators to support our students in Mrs. Bartow's Forensic Science class this week! Students were able to see how what they have learned is used daily in their careers. Check out some photos below.
Congrats to the over 60 juniors who are officially LIFESAVERS and learned CPR this morning or are already certified. In accordance with state statue, ALL 11th grade students must complete a minimum of 1 hour of CPR instruction from specific providers.
On behalf of our Clark Interact Club and a Clark alum who along with her mother brought this annual Out of the Darkness event to us for our Clark participation on the Treasure Coast, Students and families are invited to join the walk on Saturday, December 11 (8:30 start time – 7:30 to 8:30 for registration) and/or to make a donation in support of awareness and prevention of suicide. Announcements and Updates
FSA Algebra 1 retakes are this Wednesday and Thursday. Those students who need to take it have received an email to their Clark email, as well as a copy to the parent.
Attention: Clark Students taking GEOMETRY in Spring 2022 Positioning Geometry students to be as successful as possible with their Geometry coursework, we have scheduled a targeted time for Monday, December 13 to get an overview of the program that Ms. Voehl and students will be using for Geometry. Check emails for a message from Mrs. Kohuth sent on Tuesday, December 7, providing your assigned Block for this Geometry session.
Have laptop charged and ready to use. Agile Mind access will be provided and a short overview/ walk-through plus an assignment to be completed by Friday, December 17 --- with a focus on Algebra 1 concepts for refreshing knowledge/skills for the launch of Geometry class on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
Seniors- an email was sent to save a spot for grad bash today as seats are limited. Only those who completed the online survey last fall and indicated they were interested in attending received this email as they will get the first available seats. The total cost for the April 1, 2022 trip is $100. Email ljudd@irsc.edu if you would like to be added to the wait list is space opens.

Return all of your textbooks to the basket by the front desk or to your Clark teachers. You will not be able to get spring books until all of yours are turned in. Damaged books need to be paid for. Spring code and book pick up will begin Wednesday, January 5.

The state of FL requires 6 hours of instruction annually on substance abuse and mental wellness, as well as human trafficking. This is done through a program called Suite 360.

United Way Holiday Project Toy Sorting and more

9:00am - 11:45am & 12:30pm - 2:45pm Wednesday 12-3 only
Volunteers are doing a fantastic job sorting toys as they are arriving rapidly. Now set up, we have room for additional volunteers. If you would like to assist, come down and join us at the fairgrounds. We are in Building D & E. Come in at the light as the Carnival of Lights fills the infield.
Christmas Carnival of Lights
WHERE: Martin County Fairgrounds WHEN: Thursday - Sunday 5:30pm - 9:00pm
Twinkling lights, a ferris wheels and holiday music fill the air as patrons stroll through the Christmas Carnival of Lights. The grounds are filled with decorated trees, tents and other objects from nonprofits organizations. Young children pull their parents hands tugging them towards Santa so they can whisper in his ear. Many volunteers are needed to lend a hand collecting tickets, handing out ornaments for children to make at home and much more. This event will run through December 19th.
If you would like to help out, email Karah at fairoffice@martincountyfair.com to let her know you are interested. Let her know you were referred by United Way and Clark.

Student Activity Updates and Info
The various Honor Societies at Clark will be holding a formal, combined induction ceremony in January! Stay tuned for invitations and information for National Honor Society (NHS), National Arts Honor Society (NAHS), Science National Honor Society (SNHS), and Mu Alpha Theta (Math). All of these honor societies require commitments and actions to remain a member and earn the recognition at graduation.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Academy is open to emerging leaders in High School Students 9th-11th Grades, to sharpen their Leadership Skills. Only new students (first time) can apply. The RYLA will occur from March 17–21st, 2022 at Florida Elk’s Youth Camp 24175 SE Hwy 450, Umatilla, FL 32784. Transportation provided via bus. No-one can attend for multiple years unless selected for Jr. Staff role, approved by Chair. Space is limited for this extraordinary opportunity.

Make a Difference Mondays! All Clark students and their friends and family are invited to make a difference and help end suicide. Join the Clark team coordinated by Interact for the Out of the Darkness Walk this Saturday. Even if you can’t walk, please consider a donation for this cause very near and dear to us at Clark for many reasons.
Take Care Tuesdays! Get enough rest and nutrition as you balance the needed school work for the end of the semester ANDDDD all that goes on outside of school as well.
Way to Go Wednesdays! Shout out to Thomas Ladley who is always willing to pick up shifts at the front desk anytime he is asked. His willingness to jump in and help is much appreciated!
Thankful Thursdays! the Clark staff is beyond grateful to the many families who sent in donations for the holiday season. We appreciate the opportunity to know and guide our amazing students daily!
Fun Fact Fridays! It's hard to imagine what you'd want to rock out to if you were to ever float among the stars. But the crew of NASA's Gemini 6A space flight got into the Christmas spirit and made history when they played "Jingle Bells" on December 16, 1965, earning the jolly jingle the Guinness World Record for being the first song ever played in space.

STUDENT DETENTION, SEARCH, AND SEIZURE Students are subject to a search of their person, possessions, and/or vehicle if school personnel have reasonable suspicion that they are in possession of illegal materials or other forms of contraband. The use of electronic surveillance equipment may be employed. Clark administrative staff may temporarily detain and question a student under circumstances which reasonably indicate that such student has committed, is committing, or is about to commit a violation of law or of school policy. If at any time after the onset of the temporary detention, a reasonable suspicion arises that the detained student is concealing or has concealed a firearm, weapon, or stolen or illegal materials or other forms of contraband on his/her person or within his/her automobile or other storage space, Clark and IRSC personnel will implement IRSC Security Procedures.
