Egg Harbor Township High School
WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 13, 2020
Greetings,
Weeks continue to fly by! As we finish our second week of school, I see that our teachers are getting back in the groove. Teachers and students have met each day and are navigating responsibilities. Google continues to put out information on new add ons to help teachers and students work more efficiently.
On Mondays from 9/14/20-10/23/20, the District Professional Development Committee has created opportunities for teachers as we help them to prepare their students and families for the transition to the hybrid schedule and asynchronous learning. By October 19th, students should be able to independently engage through Google Classroom to locate assignments and resources needed to complete all learning activities in preparation for the start of hybrid learning on October 26th. Teachers had their first Professional Learning Day on Monday, September 14. These workshops helped Teachers create emergency lesson plans in the event that they are out so that students can continue to learn.
Assistant Principals assisted in continuing to get books and materials out to students. If your student has not picked up their assigned books and materials, please do not hesitate to contact any Assistant Principal to arrange a pick up time during the day.
It was great to have our special education teachers and paraprofessionals back in the building this week. Our special education MD students were on the campus and it was a wonderful week for them. They were excellent as we carried out fire and emergency drills. I could hardly contain my excitement to see teachers working from the building! It almost made me feel like all is right again.
Athletics is underway! On Monday Sept 14, all outdoor fall sports were on the fields. It was wonderful to see the excitement of the athletes and their coaches. They were following protocol from NJSIAA for the Road Back. Some scrimmages are set for next week and their games will begin the following week. This is beginning to bring some normalcy to our student athletes. More information will be out for expectations during home games. As for away games, many schools have already said no spectators. I will have more information on that as well.
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone! #ehtpride #ehtstrong #goeagles
