DOT DAY was a huge success! We met with a clas from McKamy and they helped us create a digital dot and we will add it to our E-Portfolios under collaboration! The kids shared how they will make their mark on the world. We painted rocks and there is now a beautiful rock garden in the front flower bed area at OSE. So fun!
We met in the library with Mrs. Jones and worked on our E-Portfolios. They updated their pictures and worked on their all about me page. They can show you this from home and can add to it if they want.
Look for swimming paperwork to come home on Monday. Please return the permission slip ASAP. I will be sending out a VERY detailed email next week that is full of information. It will explain everything.
Have a great weekend!

WHAT WE'VE BEEN LEARNING
Language Arts- We did an author study on Kevin Henkes. The children looked at adjectives to describe characters and writing a summary. They read a booklet all about him and recorded interesting facts. We contine to partner read, silent read, choral read and listen to reading. Next week I will begin reading with small groups and individuals while the others work independently. We also read The Dot and talked alot about making our mark on this world through our kindness, our jobs, our behavior, and even our hobbies.
Science-We were completing our learning about the scientific process. We did another experiment with apple slices and a variety of liquids. We were testing to see what kept the apple from turning brown. The focus was on the inquiry.
