End of Course Exams Testing Dates
Our annual End of Course testing starts next week!
Week of May 1st: LA 2 EOCs
May 2nd and 3rd: some Algebra 2 students will take Alg 2 EOC
Week of May 8th: ALG 1 EOCs
Students will take these exams in their classrooms with their teachers.

Junior / Senior Prom

Senior Meeting
We will be having a senior meeting this coming Monday, May 1st at 2:15 p.m. in the Auditorium. We will be covering graduation as well as important dates and information.
Early graduates should attend the meeting if they can make it. We will get information to those students who are not able to attend.

Senior Sunset
Senior Sunset is a new tradition that was established last year. This event will take place on Thursday, May 4th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the grass area south of the bus lane.
This is a senior only event. There will be a movie, games, pizza, and drinks. If it rains, the event will be moved to the Old Gym.

8th Grade Tour
Current 8th-grade students will be visiting JHS on Tuesday, May 16th. Students will be eating lunch in the Commons, taking a tour of campus, and visiting our clubs and organizations.
They will arrive on campus around 12:00 p.m. and will depart for the junior high at about 1:45 p.m.

Final Exam Schedule
We will follow this schedule for our final exams at the end of this school year.
Schedule:
Seniors
Tuesday, May 9th - 6th and 8th periods final exam or review.
Wednesday, May 10th - (Green Day) 6th & 8th periods can test if they didn't test on 5/9.
Thursday, May 11th - Final exam in 1st, 3rd, and 5th periods.
Friday, May 12th - Final exam in 2nd and 4th periods. *11:10 am dismissal for seniors.
Underclassmen
Monday, May 22 - Black Day (Review).
Tuesday, May 23 - Black Day - Final exams in all class periods.
Wednesday, May 24 - Red Day (Review)
Thursday, May 25 - Red Day - Altered bells, 12:00 pm dismissal
1st period final - 7:55-9:10 (all periods are 75 minutes)
3rd period final - 9:15-10:30
5th period final - 10:35-11:50
Dismissal - grab & go lunch - 11:50-12:00
Students are not allowed to take their final exams early. Students who are absent from school during final exam time due to illness, being quarantined, or for other excused reasons need to contact their teachers and principal so that we can ensure students have the opportunity to complete all assignments, quizzes, tests, essays, projects, etc. Students with excused absences will be allowed the appropriate amount of time to make up their work. Students can make up their final exam on the following days:

Important Dates for Seniors

May 11th - First mandatory graduation practice at 1:30 p.m. in the Event Center.
May 12th - Last day of school, early dismissal, 11:10 a.m.May 14th - Baccalaureate in the Event Center, 7:00 p.m. (optional)
May 17th - Senior breakfast and mandatory graduation practice, 8:00 a.m.
May 19th - Graduation at the Show Me Center, 7:00 p.m.

Graduation Ceremony
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Seating is first come, first serve. There are no reserved seats and guests do not need to have a ticket. This event is free of charge and is open to the public.

Senior Show-offs
Attached is a flyer with a great opportunity to show off you graduate! Your child's senior portrait can be displayed on the Jackson High School marquee from May 17th - May 29th. Fee is $25 and payment is due in the main office by Wednesday, May 17th. Money collected will be applied to the scholarship fund. No need to submit a photo, Cheekwood's yearbook photo will be displayed.

We Teach Solutions ACT Prep Course
We Teach Solutions is hosting an ACT Prep course at Sikeston High School’s Math & Science Center on Saturday, June 3, 2023, 8:00am - 3:00pm. The course is open to students around the area are who are registered for the June 10th ACT test. We hope you will take this opportunity to learn the strategies for each content (English, math, reading, and science) and improve your overall scores. Summer School
Summer School applications are now available! Click here to print an application, or you may pick up an application at the JHS Main Office or Counselor’s Office. You can also find a copy on our website. All applications must be turned in to the Counselor’s Office.
Session 1 dates are May 31st - June 22nd, no school on June 19th. There will be a Session 2 for a few online classes. Session 2 dates are June 28th - July 20th, no school on July 4th.
