Most students have turned in their permission slips. If you have not done so, please sign and return those soon. Also, please remember to make your payment through My Payments Plus. Payment and permission slips are due December 7th.

Movie Night

Mark your calendars for Movie Night on December 11th from 5:30-9:00!!


Parents don’t miss the chance to have a Friday night to shop for the holidays or have a relaxing dinner out while your child has fun watching “Minions” under the supervision of our wonderful PMES teachers. This event is sponsored by PMES Relay for Life. Students will have fun and receive pizza and a drink all for only $15 per student. ($10 for each additional sibling) Look for the flyer in this week’s Friday Folder.

Art Update

It's time again for the Annual PMES Art Club Exhibit at the Hamilton Mill Library. Our exhibit will run from 12/4/15 - 1/5/15. We hope you and your family will stop by and see the Letter Art Exhibit from our awesome 4th and 5th grade Art Club members.

What are we doing next week?


  • Reading – Students will review the nonfiction text features that they have been learning for the past two weeks. Students will show that they know how to use them with an assessment. Students will also use Scholastic News to understand current events and identify nonfiction text features in news articles. Teachers will begin a new Read Aloud book, "Winter According to Humphrey".
  • Writing – We will continue with our informational writing unit.
  • Word Study/Spelling - We will cover the Short/Long U spelling pattern. We will have a test on Friday.
  • Grammar - We will continue our unit on compound sentences.
  • Math – We will continue with our unit on area. Please continue practicing multiplication facts at home. The Area and Perimeter Test is scheduled for December 17th.
  • Social Studies - We will finish up our unit on Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass with a test on Wednesday. There will be a few spiraling questions that cover Paul Revere as well. You can use the following Quizlet links to study important vocabulary: Susan B. Anthony Quizlet LINK, Frederick Douglass Quizlet LINK, and Paul Revere Quizlet LINK. After the test, we will begin a unit on map skills.
