Book Fair and Family Fun Night
Thank you for volunteering to help set-up and support the Book Fair and Fall Family Night on Friday. The variety of activities drew an enthusiastic and sizable crowd who enjoyed food, face painting, crazy hair designs, Bingo, dancing, and the Book Fair. It was a great night and was fun to see so many members of our Gatewood family. Helen the chicken even made an appearance!

Minor Changes in Afternoon Dismissal Times
We recently discovered that our published end time is 4:05 and not 4:03. Therefore, we will be adjusting our afternoon dismissal time by a few minutes so we aren't dismissing too early and having students and staff members wait. Starting today, the new dismissal times will be:
3:57 - walkers and parent pick-up
4:02 - kindergarten-2nd grade
4:05 - 3rd-6th grades
Walkie Talkie Etiquette and Practices
Thank you to Chris who sent out tips and suggestions for walkie talkie use. While I'm glad to have this tool for communication (I now have my own that I can use), I'd like to reiterate things to remember about our practice of using walktie talkies. These tools were intended for classroom teachers, and others, to inform and communicate with the office. Please do not leave walkie talkies on in classrooms where students and others can overhear. And, if you are a staff member who does need to keep your walkie talkie on, please be sensitive to the volume and others around you. Thank you.
KIND Cards for Colleagues!
It's time to start recognizing our colleagues for the kind things they do for students, colleagues, and our community. You may write out a KIND Card for a colleague and a brief description on the back as to the reason for the recognition. Random drawings will be held for small gifts, treats, and other things to recognize others for their acts of kindness. The container for the adults will be kept on the counter in the office work area next to the paper cutters.
