Lake Wilderness Wildcats
November Edition
Message From Mrs. Ready
Happy November LWES Families!
October is a full month of learning and growing hearts and minds- we are seeing progress because of the hard work of our students and staff. Please watch for a progress report to be sent home through Skyward on November 14th. This report is meant to be a checkpoint before report cards in January so you can see how your student is progressing toward grade level expectations. The more thorough report will be at the semester mark in January.
The cooler weather is here along with our new month- please make sure your student has a warm coat with their name labeled (our lost and found is overflowing!) Speaking of Lost and Found, each week our amazing PTSA partners are setting out a section of lost and found under the covered area near the bus loop on Tuesday evenings. Please stop by to find those warm coats that theyβll need! Thanks, Chrissa Barr for organizing this opportunity to access lost and found.
Please note important dates and events for this week and month:
- Veterans Day Assembly - Thursday, November 9th see the information and invite below.
- No school Friday, November 10 Happy Veterans Day, and thank you to all those who are serving or have served to protect our freedoms!
- Progress reports are electronically delivered to families on November 14
- November 22 is a half day- dismissal at 12:20 - lunch will be served
- No school November 23-24- Happy Thanksgiving
With gratitude,
Melanie Ready
Principal

Ready for Kindergarten? Do you have a child newborn to age 5?
If so, this is the program for you! Please click on the link to read more about the program. https://www.tahomasd.us/families/for_parents/kindergarten/ready__for_kindergarten_parent_workshops
Registration is now OPEN to families living in the Tahoma School District!
Click here to sign-up. Registration closes Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at 3PM.
(If you live in a neighboring district, please contact your school district
to see if they offer the READY! for Kindergarten program.)
READY! for Kindergarten is a program for parents/caregivers that helps them prepare their child(ren) for a happy and successful school experience. The E-Learning workshops consist of three, self-paced online courses (about 60-minutes each). Each course has a different theme (language & literacy, math & reasoning, social & emotional). Parents receive a binder containing 26 age-appropriate targets for ALL age ranges (0-5), resources, materials (toys/games) and training on how to use the resources and materials to help their child(ren) work toward being ready for kindergarten.
NOTE: This program is optional and is not a required part of kindergarten registration. We typically advertise them together because they occur at the same time of the year.

Picture Retakes Coming November 15
If your child missed Picture Day on September 26/27 or would like to have their photo retaken, school picture retakes will take place the morning of Wednesday, November 15.
If you already ordered photos but your child wasn't at school on picture day, you don't need to do anything. Your child will have their picture taken on November 15.
If your child is having retakes, please have them bring their original photo packet to school on November 15 to return to the photographers. There is no cost for retakes unless you are planning to keep the original photo packet too, in which case you will need to place another order for the new photos using the link below.
If you would like to order photos for the November 15th date, you can use this link:
https://v2.myproimages.com/kids-photography-2111/code/LKWFALL23
If you order from the link above, a photo will be taken of your student on November 15. These orders must be made by 10 p.m. the day BEFORE picture day.
The link above is not for the original photos that were taken on September 26/27. If you would like to order more of the original photos, please use the form enclosed in the photo packet you already received.
If you have any questions, please email KIDS Photography at KIDSphoto@comcast.net

From Our Amazing PTSA
Panda Express Fundraiser - TODAY, Thursday, November 2
PTSA Comes to Lost and Found Rescue
Each Tuesday from now on, one special PTSA person will pull out different items between 3-8 PM and place them outside of the EEP door (known also as the bus loop or south entrance). This week we will be focusing on the "blue" lost and found items.
Each week we will choose a color or item to feature which will be communicated the day before (Monday). Please look at the school calendar each Monday for what will be showcased on Tuesdays. https://lakewilderness.tahomasd.us/Calendar
Thank you, Chrissa Barr for taking on this job. It is badly needed and very appreciated by our school.
