Attention 5th Grade Families
Beginning Band and String Instrument Information and Rental Night
The D.C. Everest Middle School will be offering a Rental Night to assist the beginning band and string students in renting an instrument. Heid music store will be at the D.C. Everest Middle School in the Theater from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 (drop in anytime). You will be able to sign a contract with Heid Music for the instrument your child wishes to play in the fall and make your first payment. String students will be measured for the correct size instrument. The instruments will be delivered to the middle school in August so that we can hand them out on the first day of the Jump Start program. You may also visit the store or check out their website if you are unable to come on April 20th. https://www.heidmusic.com/rentalinformation/
If you already own the instrument that your child will be starting on, please bring it in to have it inspected on April 20. The instrument can be sent in during the summer months for any repairs or maintenance work that is needed. Then it will be in excellent playing condition for your child to start on in the fall.

Summer Learning Program 2023
Please note, registration for the Summer Learning Program closes on April 19. Late registrations will not be accepted.
The D.C. Everest Summer Learning Program is open to all students residing in the district. There is no cost to attend, and all students are eligible for bus transportation. Our program will begin with our Early Evergreen program for grades 4K and 5K, through students who have completed 11th grade.
The goal of our summer program is to provide the children of our community with further opportunity to grow academically, socially, and to explore new areas of personal interest.
Early Evergreen classes are for the full morning, whereas students in grades 1-11 select two classes for each morning. Several full-morning classes are also offered for the different grade levels.
Dates & Times
Classes for our summer program are held Monday through Thursday (no school Fridays), from approximately 8:00 a.m. until noon, with slight variation between buildings to accommodate summer bus routes and food programs. The program begins Wednesday, June 7, and concludes Thursday, July 13. There will be no school July 3 and July 4.

Summer school locations for the summer of 2023 will be the same as last year. 4K through 4th grade will be located at Rothschild Elementary and Weston Elementary.
