Teacher Weekly
St. Vincent de Paul Parish School
Greetings Staff!
There are so many exciting things happening here at SVDP! I am absolutely thrilled with the quality instruction and reflection on your professional practice. Coach Waller is doing an incredible job helping our team to be a strong instructional team- we certainly are thankful for that! I can only see this increasing as our year moves along. Because of this, I would like to propose a free day for our scheduled October 14th Professional Development Day. I feel so lucky to have you as a staff and having a day to routinely go over what is being worked on daily here, is not needed. If you are extremely upset and would have loved to come in on that day, please know the building will be open to work in your rooms- I would be happy to provide you with a worksheet or day-long PBL solving a real-world problem of course with integrated technology! You are all simply the best.<3

The Week's Notes
Bean Bags: This Saturday is an all family movie night. It looks as though we need to move this indoors because of the weather. We will plan to have this in the gym and I would like to utilize all of the bean bags for the learners who will attend the event. Please have one or two learners bring your classroom bean bags to the gym on Friday afternoon. Thank you!

Fantasy Football ARP: We are creating a fantasy football style league at SVDP. Fantasy AR will have our Non-Fiction Division pitting against our Fiction Division in weekly head to head reading competitions across grades 1-8. Middle school students will be team captains who draft their own teams and encourage teammates on a week by week basis to read challenging books and to continue to read. Our goal at SVDP is to see kids reading and to have a purpose for reading; we hope this Fantasy league gives those who need a little extra push that little extra push to go farther and challenge themselves to read more.
Open House: Our Annual Open House is scheduled for September 21st from 5:30 -7:00 p.m. Teachers are required to be here. You should have a 'technological' presentation of some sort prepared for your classrooms (i.e. interactive website via iPads, scrolling pictures, videos of learners, etc.) . You should have learner work displayed in your hallways as well as in your classroom. This is not a conference night, or a night to discuss individual learners, rather a night for parents to understand more about your classrooms and the expectations for their children for your classroom!
STAFF MEETING: Our staff meeting is scheduled for Monday 10/3 beginning at 3:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. . Please also bring the IPAD inventory that was sent out via email COMPLETED. (Please also bring a 'Staff Shoutout' to the meeting if you received one within the past few weeks!
INTERIMS: Interims will be sent home on 9/23. Please make sure your grades are up to date by 9/21.
Leaving early notes: Please make sure you are reminding AND Sending learners to the office who are leaving early for an appointment. Parents/the office should be contacting you to let you know their children are leaving early.
Catholic Schools Week Sign-up Sheet/Building Wide Service Learning : ***Spots are still available.*** Please notice the sign-up sheet in the main office next to the sign-
in book. Please choose something you are interested.
Pictures: Just as last year, please send me pictures of your classroom activities-I use these for our Facebook page, Website, and Newsletter. Please send them my way, with a short description of what your learners are doing.
Safety: PLEASE make sure your doors are locked if you are not in the room. This includes a quick walk to pick learners up from specials. I need this to be a priority for safety in the building.
