All Students : Get ready for your close up!
Rachel Green in Grade 10 is making 2 short films for new parents and students about what it is like being a Halcyon student.
She will be filming (and photographing) around the school over the next 4 weeks starting this Monday.
Filming will be done all around the school so please be aware of your behaviour when you see her with her camera!
If you would like to be specifically interviewed please come and find her whenever to let her know so it can be organised :)
Science Club
Engineers of all ages from kindergarten to graduate school have tried their hand at this classic challenge. Can you make a container or contraption that will protect a raw egg from a long drop? Work on your own or in a team. The contest begins Wednesday lunchtime in the science lab. All welcome. Even teachers. (Please see the link below!)
Are you interested in public speaking?
The Rotary Youth Speaks Competition is a well established and successful competition organised and promoted by Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland and sponsored by Gandys (Orphans for Orphans).

INVITATION: IB Diploma Programme information evening for Grade 9 and 10 parents
We would like to invite Grade 9 and 10 parents to join us for an information session about the IB Diploma Programme, which students in Grade 10 will begin in September 2015 when they enter Grade 11. This information will be useful for all Grade 9 & 10 parents as the students start to think about their subject options in Grade 10 and 11. This format will provide the important opportunity for Grade 10 parents to ask questions and learn about the IB Diploma Programme and how it works. Grade 9 parents are encouraged to attend to begin the learning process of fully understanding the IBDP and how course choices affect work load, IB requirements and university options.
