Principals' Post
Hello Panther Families,
We understand and appreciate the concerns you may have about the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and its potential impact on the health of our students, staff and families. Please know that we are strongly committed to the health and safety of our entire community. It is because of this commitment that we will continue to provide you with updates about COVID-19 as we receive them.
We wanted to share the following recommendations and district actions:
Current Recommendations from State, County, and Federal authorities:
Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Stay home when you are sick.
When calling school to report your child’s absence, please communicate if your child has a flu-like illness (defined as a fever of 100 degrees or higher, and a cough and/or sore throat).
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
If you cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash.

District Actions
Our staff members are encouraging students to wash their hands frequently.
We have hand-sanitizing stations located throughout our schools..
We will continue to perform routine cleaning and disinfecting in our buildings, as well as a deep cleaning as needed.
Administration and Health Staff will continue to monitor school offices to ensure students and staff who become sick at school or arrive at school sick are sent home as soon as possible. Sick students and staff will remain separate from healthy students and staff until they can leave.
The District currently has and is following its Pandemic Procedure specific to contagious disease responses.
State and Federal Agencies have shared that schools do not need to: institute special sanitizing processes beyond what we are currently implementing; require the use of masks or gloves; or cancel classes or mass gatherings. Schools are not expected to screen students or staff to identify cases of COVID-19. Local health officials will help identify those individuals and will follow up on next steps.
“COVID-19 can bring fever, cough, and shortness of breath, but in most cases of otherwise healthy people, these infections aren't dangerous or life-threatening."
Lewis Levy, MD, chief medical officer of Teladoc Health
As always, parents should keep their children home from school if they have the following
Fever above 100 degrees, vomiting, diarrhea - children must be FREE of symptoms for 24 hours before they can return to school
Strep throat or Pink Eye has been diagnosed by a doctor - children are not cleared to return to school until 24 hours after treatment
Head lice until no nits
Working together, we can help minimize the spread of illness and keep our families AND each other healthy.
Your partners in education,
Mrs. Kristin Reingruber, Principal
Dr. Carla Braun, Assistant Principal
