Welcome Back, Cardinals!
August 2015
It's a new year, and we are looking forward to new faces, new friends, and new adventures. For those of you who are returning to us, you are sure to see some changes over the course of the year. Those joining us for the first time will have the opportunity to grow right along with us. We are thrilled to welcome not only new students, but new staff and faculty members, including a new principal, Mr. David Adam!
We will be sending frequent email blasts such as this one in an effort to stay connected, keep you informed, and build a stronger sense of community among our parents, students, and staff here at LHS. So take a look, enjoy, and join us in getting ready for an exciting school year! As always, please remember to check the LHS website for information regarding news and upcoming events: http://www.ltps.org/LHS

LHS Athletics
Lawrence High School Athletics are off to a great start as Fall Sports have officially begun. We are excited to have two new head coaches joining our program this year. Coach Keith Fithen is returning to coach the Varsity Boys Soccer team. Coach Fithen boasts not only a Group 3 State Championship, but also 2 sectional state titles, 3 CVC titles and over 200 wins and 20 state tournament wins from his first stint as a head coach. The other new head coach joining us this year is Coach Gregg Zenerovitz, leading the Girls Varsity tennis program. An avid tennis player who still competes himself, he is excited to guide his team to a successful season.
Stay tuned for more exciting news about our Cardinal athletic programs as we officially open our season with games on September 10th and 11th. Also, Save the Date for our Homecoming football game and dance on October 24th!
A Note From Guidance
Greetings from Guidance! We are all very excited to be having you back in our lives here at Lawrence. We missed you all! As the summer comes to a close, we here in the Guidance Office have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on your schedules. Guess what? You probably already have them! You can log on to PowerSchool as you have previously done to view your schedule for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year. If you believe your schedule has you placed in the wrong class level or you are missing a class period, Guidance Counselors will be available during the first two weeks of school to make any necessary changes. Any urgent matters for the Guidance Office prior to the opening of school should be directed to Mrs. Connie Stanger at cstanger@ltps.org.
In the meantime, finish everything you need to get done for the opening of school now (reading, shopping, etc) so that you can enjoy the rest of your summer and be stress-free. Until we see you again - take care, and Go Cardinals!
Food for Thought from Dining Services
This year we are also excited to announce the addition of a "Spice Bar" and a "Potato Wedge Bar!" You will be able to "decorate" your wedges with a variety of yummy toppings, such as turkey chili, vegetarian chili, cheddar cheese, broccoli, queso blanco, and bacon bits!
Remember: Dining Services also sells breakfast daily from 7:15 a.m. until the first bell.
Welcome, Freshmen!
