Seventh Grade Newsletter

June 7, 2015

Dear Parents,

Here we are at the end of the year already! We have truly enjoyed working with your wonderful students this year and look forward to seeing them again next year.

Students are welcome to borrow books from my collection for the summer. I hope they will do a little bit of reading, whether it's books, magazines, newspapers, or comics. Don't forget to check out the great programs offered at the public library as well.

As we finished up the year we studied heredity and had a fun time creating crazy creatures with some pretty odd traits. Students learned about Gregor Mendel (the father of genetics), Punnett squares, and simulated the passing on of various traits to create a sometimes silly, scary, or just plain interesting looking creatures.

As I had told all the 7th graders, I have really enjoyed my time this year with each of them. It has been wonderful being able to be a part of their lives as well as them in mine. I hope to see them around town this summer. Thanks for all the wonderful parenting and support that takes place on your end. We have truly amazing students. Thank you.
